Another weekend in the books and the start of another week. How was your weekend?
We went to our dance studio, a wine tasting of our church group, a baby shower as our assistant pastor and his wife are expecting their first child, and a graduation party. My wife also went to one of the best summer art shows in the country where she also volunteered. In other words, a full weekend for us.
Because the Muppets brings smiles, that’s a good enough reason to have them start our week. This one goes back to 1969 on Sesame Street! Have a good week! … and don’t forget the password below.

the guy reminds me of a too long drum solo – loved this -
-so funny that you have wine tastings at your church – my church only serves grape juice for communion – I guess we can’t we trusted – I no longer go to church
LouAnn,
… Thanks for commenting.
I like the drum solo analogy. Does that still happen at concerts? Meanwhile, I’ve said this before, but I have to write a post about the church wine group because it has been very successful as a tool for getting people to know one another! Then again, not every congregation would approve – hence the grape juice.
my son is in a band so that is why I know they still do drum solos
Thank you….I needed that.
Zannyro,
You’re welcome … Manamana.
Saturday was lawn-massacre day. And I’ll give you 3 guesses what I spent today doing. Hint: “telly” rather than “television” was involved, old bean.
And what a wonderful start to the week from you! Don’t forget the 70th anniversary of the Battle Of Midway and the 68th of the capture of Rome on Monday, and the 68th of Operation Overlord on Wednesday!
John,
You must have not hurt yourself with the machete! How do you remember all the WW II Anniversaries? Do you have a calendar? Thanks for the reminders!
Don’t need no calender. I got no life!
John,
Oh my … between laughing and shaking my head, I confusing myself.
After the rain cleared, island hopping. Much fun. Wishing you a great week Frank!
Heather,
Island hoping for sounds fun! Thanks for sharing.
I used to watch Sesame Street every day with my son when he was little. We both loved it.
Debra,
Cheers to this PBS classic. Thanks for visiting.
You have very full weekends! And your activities sound wonderful, too! I love the Muppets. It’s been fun to introduce my grandchildren to them now. MANAMANA is one of my favorites
Debra
Debra,
Cheers to your weekend, and glad to know Manamana is a favorite. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi,
The Muppet’s are always good for a laugh, loved the video.
Mags,
They have a way to cause smiles. Thanks for commenting.
I bought the Sesame Street Old School DVDs a few years ago for my kids. They love all the old stuff. Even more than the new Sesame Street. This video clip is one of my favourites.
Ellie,
Glad I selected one of your favorites. Thanks for stopping by.
Frank, I don’t know how you survive your weekends – they sound like fun but so busy! On the weekends, I’m in the garden or cooking in the kitchen and try not to step off the property.
There’s an old musician’s joke about drum solos – two guys lost in a jungle hear drums going on for a very long time. One guy says “The drums are driving me crazy, I wish they would stop!” The other says “No way!” “Why not?” “After the drums stop, the bass solo begins!”
Lynn,
Great musician’s joke about the drum solo!
I imagine the gardens and the kitchen are the escape to clear your mind so the musical creativity can come forth . Meanwhile, my weekend was a good one … seemingly balanced and not rushed. Thanks for sharing!
one of the funniest, “had to be there” moments i ever saw was when i was walking with a friend who found a tennis ball that was split halfway. he picked it up, grabbed it by the sides with his fingers, and squeezed it so it opened and closed while saying, “manamana…”
Rich,
But picturing it made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.
i was about 20 at the time, so sesame street was so many years behind me that it was completely unexpected. it’s like when someone now, 35 years after high school, brings up a name of a classmate. and then you realize you had not thought of that name in 35 years, and that you’d probably have never thought of that name ever again if the other person had not just mentioned it.
Yep … Namanama
Thanks Frank!
Lol, now I have this tune in my head and it’s only 10 AM! It’s a cute little jingle and puts a smile on my face. Love the muppets!
Java,
…. the question is will the tune still be in our head at 6 m … Manamana. Thanks for visiting.
LOL! Yes, yes it will….
I am glad to hear this dear Frank, how inspirational your dance studio,
Bikes and dance they both impress me… But at the end I will convince my love.
We had a nice weekend too… The weather was good too… Thank you dear Frank, have a nice and enjoyable new week, love, nia
Nia,
We don’t live life in the fast lane, but we enjoy ourselves. Glad you had a good weekend too … and your pictures show good weather!
The muppets are also now entertaining the families of the troops which is a wonderful gesture.
Christine,
Now that’s a great tidbit to know, so thanks for visiting and sharing!
When the Muppets became popular I was too old to be into them, so I came to appreciate them much later in life. Thanks for embedding yet another fun video. This weekend, I volunteer ushered an interesting off-Broadway play and I saw a few films — one I highly recommend by Wes Anderson, “Moonrise Kingdom”. It’s an edgy and charming story about 12-year-olds in love that run away together.
Lame,
Same with me regarding the Muppets. Thanks for visiting and recommending the film you saw!
You’re sooo cooooolll! I’ve always adored the Muppets ~ very uniquely you Frank! XO
Deborah,
Other than saying glad you like it and thanks for commenting, all I have to say is Manamana.
Frank! It’s Monday and I read your blog on….Monday. Sounds like a good weekend. Mine, bittersweet with a birthday Saturday and memorial Sunday. Back to work!
Les,
That’s a wide-range of emotions over two days. Sorry to hear about your loss, but Happy Birthday. Thanks for stopping by.
Manamana mmmmmm I’ll be singing this all day. :+) That was a fun light post. I’m glad you had a good weekend. We have been busy and have been on the road most of the week. Zipping here and zipping there. We went to visit Navars brother in North Dakota. His brother has a small dairy farm so that was a lot of fun seeing the farm in action. We even milked a few cows. Poor Navar got peed on, pooped and stepped on. Other than that it was a fun weekend!
Starla,
Getting this song stuck in your head was my intent! OH my … poor Navar! Meanwhile, Manamana.
Manamana mmmmm:lol: I’ll remember that being your intent to get the song stuck. I’m thinking of what would be a good song? I’ll have to give this some thought.
Yes Navar really had a time of it, some how I missed most of the ick.
If the muppets weren’t so darned cute, this song would be a bit manamanotous . LOL. It’s hard to believe the muppets have been around for so long already. May Jim Henson RIP.
Orples,
Great description for the song. Thanks for visiting and mentioning Jim Henson!!!
Hello Frank!
Manamana brought back some memories. I had forgotten how simply constructed the original muppets were. Sesame street was one of the first multiracial multicultural shows for kids entertaining and educating many. I am a big Sesame Street fan!!!!
Choice,
Welcome first-time visitor, and many Manamanas to you! I’m not surprised that Sesame Street led the way in multiracial, multiculturalism. They did message well! Thanks for visiting and commenting … plus I hope you return again. Manamana!
[...] other day when I was bouncing over to A FrankAngles blog I was invited to listen to a muppet video Manamana I realized after it was too late that manamana is one of “those songs” that [...]
Classic. Love the hairy bloke.
Cuttlefish,
Absolutely … and thanks for visiting …. Manamana.
That is a hilarious song.
Joy,
Welcome first-time commenter. By way of Starla? And yes … Manamana is a classic. Thanks for visiting.
They appeared frequently on Ed Sullivan for a while I think, doing this number.
Bruce,
Hmmmmm … I wouldn’t know – but it wouldn’t surprise me. But I remember Topo Gigio. Thanks for sharing!
This was great — but for a Saturday, not a Monday. Somehow I missed it!
And I remember Topo Gigio, too. It makes me smile just to think of him saying “Oh Eddie”!
Elsye,
Agree … this is a good Saturday morning one. (FYI: I just posted on for Saturday) … Topo Gigio and his classic Oh Eddie line brings a smile. I recall putting a video in a response on this post. Have a good weekend … and Manmana.
