On a Monday Reporter

Hope you had a good weekend. What did you do that was memorable?

As I prepare this post Sunday mid-afternoon, I’m exhausted – thus hoping for a nap. We danced ballroom both Friday and Saturday night, but it was the handbell event that how put me in a low energy level. Because our church hosted other choirs, those of us who go out of our way to help guests more is demanding.

Then there was this crazy, energetic, difficult song that our choir played. During the song, the effects of my extra adrenalin pushed me – and then when it was over, the “someone pulled the plug” feeling crashed me to normalcy soon after the last night as I suddenly realized we hit it! Maybe our best! Needless to say, I Β am quite proud of our group’s accomplishment.

Because I’m on the topic of energy and dancing, Cincinnatians have a local TV personality who is quite the entertainer. Although he serves as Β a weekend anchor, during the week early risers can find him during the early morning traffic reports; however, he vaults viewers into the weekend with his quirky Dancing Party Friday report before the Friday sun rises. Β Enjoy this one from several years ago, and I look forward to catching up on reading your posts. Have a great week!

  1. Hi,
You did have a very busy weekend. As soon as I clicked over to your other post I remembered the music you were talking about, that is great that you all did so well, it did look very difficult.
Oh I loved the video, love those white pants he had under his black pants, brilliant, and he can certainly move those maracas. πŸ˜†

    • Mags,
Glad you enjoyed the video … he’s a hoot. Many times he just out there jumping around like a madman! But that’s good for Friday mornings. Meanwhile, I’m still amazed that we did so well – thus it was quite an accomplishment for us. … and no rehearsal this week! Thanks for stopping by.

    • Rich,
I’ll be watching from afar. Being that you will be west bound, will you be cutting across Ohio across the north (Ohio Turnpike) or through the central (I-70)? Enjoy the festival and I’m sure you will be posting about it! Thanks for visiting.

  3. This weekend, I worked on homework assignments, hung out with my boyfriend, and slept like a wild monkey after being chased by an angry baboon.

  4. I drove to Dallas, dropped off Jenny at Great Wolf Lodge where the other kids and transmission were spending the weekend, then went and rode the mountain bike over 20 miles at one of DFW’s finest mountain bike trails. Wanted to take some wildflower pics for the website on the way home but was getting too dark by then. That’s about it.

  5. Morning Frank…I love Bob!! Everyone should get a little ‘Hawaiian’. πŸ˜€ Sorry about your busy weekend, but it sounds like you had fun. Here in San Antonio this weekend was the opening of Fiesta!

Hope you have a great week!

    • Good Morning Alex,
Ha ha … reminds me of Donnie and Marie commercial “Going to go Hawaiian.” Friday and Saturday were fun. Smartly, we left the Saturday dance early as our energy level was slowing down. … Then a low key Sunday afternoon and evening helped! Meanwhile, I hope you attended the Fiesta!

  6. You guys Hit it! I’m so glad the handbells went well and you met the challenge and shined.

The video was fun now that’s the way to do the weather. It’s nice to see someone has a sense of humor doing the weather.

Our weekend I must say was a mixed bag. Some intense emotions worrying about family. Talking to Navars sibblings and worrying with them. It was difficult and stressful. On Sunday we went to town and rested by the river. It was an out of the park beautiul day. It was 79 degrees it felt like summer. Relaxing by the river and seeing all the smiles on the people’s faces around town as they celebrated the nice weather.

  7. It sounds like you had a really busy weekend but the ballroom sounds great. I think it is such a wonderful thing to do with the person you love. And I hear it’s great fun, great exercise and super enjoyable. No wonder you crashed after two nights of ballroom and a performance on the Sunday xx

    • Spiced,
I think the rush of adrenalin (and sudden shutoff) of the last song in the performance was reason. It took a lot. After the last note, I look down with a sigh of relief while knowing we hit it. I don’t think I ever look up at the audience. A friend told me (yesterday) that she read my exhaustion. Nonetheless, I’m proud of my fellow choir members. Thanks so much Charlie!

  8. Congratulations, Frank, on the successful performance! Your choir should be very proud of the hard work contributing to doing so well–and with such a complex piece! I’m impressed you also fit in two nights of ballroom dancing…I’d be resting, too! Happy Monday and cheers to a new week! Debra

    • Debra,
I must admit that we left the Saturday dance early because both of us were winding down very quickly. (My wife is also in the handbell choir). But for a volunteer group like hours having a successful ring with that piece is quite an accomplishment – especially considering the plight we’ve encountered this year. Thanks for commenting.

Bell choir: did you perform the percussion Handbell piece?

    • Lynn,
Now that is funny! But at east it wasn’t him. πŸ™‚ …. In terms of the bell choir, yes, we played it and hit it! We even added a percussionist. I had a very percussive part with a lot of mallet time and marts … emotionally exhausting!!! Thanks for commenting!

    • Spirit,
His the traffic reporter in the morning (5-7 am) on Channel 12 – so many won’t see him. And if they do, it may be later on the weekends when he is sane as the anchor. Thanks for commenting.
