On Politics
As a person who enjoys following politics, especially presidential elections, the 2012 campaign bores me.
Cheers to former Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for recently criticizing their own party.
This video cracks me up. Too bad I don’t have one for each party. Thanks Kay.

Do you remember seeing the iconic photo from the Vietnam War of the naked little girl crying from the napalm? See turned 40, thus here’s a very interesting article.

PS: Happy Father’s Day weekend to all the dads, although some of us rely on memories. Plus, Father’s Day means its US Open golf!
A few weeks ago I honored Wile E. Coyote. Since then, I found this tribute for everyone to enjoy. Have a safe weekend everyone. In the words of Garrison Keillor, Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.
This was wonderful. I was thinking of Father’s Day, and my dad loved Wylie Coyote. He had a special affection for the guy who kept getting up again.

Hi,
Nothing really grabs me from the Onion today. 😦
I did read about the little girl from the war, a very good story and well worth the read if others haven’t done so.
Yes I noticed it was Father’s Day after i started doing the blog rounds this morning, our Father’s Day here in Oz is the first Sunday in September, which is the start of our Spring. 🙂
Enjoyed the video and I do love that song. 😀

Excellent set of thoughts and links.
The Wile E Coyote tribute occassioned much laughter in the Guapo household.
Or, as my girl said when she realized what song the video was synced to, said, “That’s just wrong.”
But she said it while laughing.

Governor Too Embarrassed to Say which State He Leads..yes but mostly the state is embarrassed by the association
saw that vietnam war article..great thought provoking read but i sometimes wonder if people really get the message…in most cases they don’t .
guess every one wants their own scars to teach them

Soma,
Zing … Excellent on the governor and the state. Great point about the Vietnam article. I one who believes that history repeats itself because the people involved haven’t lived the past, thus they don’t have the scars from the prior learning experience. Thanks for commenting.

I’ve read the story about the girl who suffered so much in the war organised by Henry Kissinger. I’m so glad she has been able to turn her life into a masterpiece when nothing but death and destruction was her future. xx

That health care article is the best piece of writing I’ve seen yet on the Affordable Care Act. I reckon if Obama’s legal team had been that well spoken, the court case would have gone much differently. Thanks for the link!

The administration’s court team was pathetic at best. Then again, did it really matter? Were minds already made up before the hearings? Glad you enjoyed the article and thanks for commenting.

Frank, thank you for the link to the Vietnamese girl’s story. I clearly remember seeing that photo when it appeared in newspapers and my reaction to it. The article was fascinating as well as the “resolution” of the story. Deeply moving and transformative, thank you for sharing this.
On a lighter note, I have always loved Wile E. Coyote 🙂

I’m sorta relieved that this campaign is boring. I was a little sad that I moved right before a presidential campaign since I’m a political junkie and I didn’t want to miss out on the fun. I am sorry that you are bored though.
