We had a full weekend, so how was yours? Friday started with the 150th edition of Opinions in the Shorts. From there, our composed of time on the ballroom floor, a dinner and pool party at friends, hosted our in-laws to celebrate an 83rd birthday, watch some Olympics, and time for some chores around the house.
The weekend gave us a short break from the summer blast furnace, but another round of heat and high humidity is set to return this week. Meanwhile, to start your week on a positive note, enjoy this clip from Family Feud. It also provides the basis for this post’s title. I hope everyone has a good week!
Remember the old Chinese proverb/insult, “May you live in interesting times”? Yep – between car breakdowns and A/C units vomiting water into the house, we had ourselves one INTERESTING weekend!
Stay cool, buddy! 😀

John,
Yikes – those types of events are never good – let alone when they happen in pairs and repeatedly. Hang in there! Thanks for sharing.

I like Steve Harvey as the host better than Richard Dawson et al. And those 2 contestants were funny. Naughty and Nice.
Sounds like you had a full weekend! Glad you enjoyed.

I was just thinking about Family Feud. That’s a show from so long ago but I used to love it – not enough to go on it though! We had a busy weekend too that cut into my Olympic viewing time. I have much to catch up on xx

Spiced,
The Olympics were on so much here that one can tune in at just about any time of day. Good luck to the Aussies!

It is hot and humid here, rain comes in short spells like someone sprinkled a little water from up there and increases the humidy even more.
Government is spending crores on prayers and letting the common man die without water and fields go dry and yet none of the Indian gods are willing to help..I knew one day this was going to happen always told others we should have more gods..but no one listened to me ..
Good to know you got some relief 🙂
with you a happy Monday

Funny clip from the feud. Always enjoyed it back when I did watch TV. I misread part of your post. I thought you started your weekend on the bathroom floor not the ballroom floor – I’ve really got to start reading these posts AFTER the first cup of coffee.
Glad you had a good weekend.
Mine was relaxing and quiet – just the way I like it. The temps were near perfect – perfect for me being mid 60’s/low 70’s. I took a vacation day today so I could go photograph “fire practice” with a local fire department. I’m really looking forward to that.
Have a great week my friend.

Mobius,
LOL … very good about the bathroom floor! 🙂 The differences between the weather in the northern and southern parts are our state have always amazed me. But at least both of us had pleasant weather this time! Good luck with you fire practice photos! Thanks for visiting and sharing.

I had a great birthday weekend, with lots of great food, cards, flowers etc. I did watch a bit of the Olympics too, and did some beach walking. I don’t envy you the extreme heat and humidity this coming week. Sounds like you had a fun weekend too.

Paradise,
Great that you had such a wonderful birthday … (and a belated greeting from here) … I know that beach walking is one of the difficult challenges of your location – but I’ve learned that you are tough and welcome challenges. Good luck to South African athletes in during the rest of the games. Thanks for visiting.

Thanks, Frank. Our swimmers are doing well so far. As for the beach walking, someone has to do it, and I volunteered. 😀

Sounds like you had a good weekend. Mine was good too. Mostly of the relaxing on a summer day variety, but I did fit in a few chores. 🙂

Until you posted that clip, I had never watched Family Feud in my life. Excellent clip. Steve Harvey’s great! Aside from sports and news I don’t watch much TV. I prefer to fry what’s left of my brain web-surfing. Thanks for the weather report, already dreading more heat and humidity.

Well, I had the vomiting AC, too! Do you know that when these things back up, they “vomit” 26 gallons of water into your built-in basement per day? Oh yeah, fun times. Fortunately, we were home to catch the chaos, mop, sop, and dehumidify before everything was ruined.
Glad to see the FF clip. I roared! Thanks for making me laugh. I needed it. ET
