I wanted to try something different for today. Besides, I don’t want to mess up a Saturday Morning Classic Cartoon post!
Because I haven’t tried the time/scheduled post function, this weekend is a good time to try. Therefore, wherever you are at whatever time, and no matter the mood, there’s probably something below to strike your fancy. Watch as many as you want. Return at different part of your day. That character is Hippety Hopper. Although I have done posts on many of the characters in the line, he/she is one that I haven’t done yet. Meanwhile, Eventually I will honor all these, and then have a post honoring the entire line of characters. Good question … and thanks for commenting.

I have had very few job interviews but they were nothing like his. Maybe I just need to do a few more and not be so goal (read ‘job’) oriented. Loved that one.

I love your city, I went there last year, really nice place.
I was going to write a “smart” comment about riverdance and the overture, but then I watched the last video and couldn’t stop laughing, the lady narrating the video was hilarious and I learnt that even guys can work the tassel.

Love the first one….the squirrels are too much of a reminder of the annoying campaign.
(and the handbells – used to play some in high school…but with a faster beat and enthusiasm…not the churchy variety – but nice to hear them)

My wife and I are in a church handbell choir, so I do handbell posts. For a church choir, we do well, and we play quite a variety. We played the one in this post several years ago. I found to be very interesting. Here’s one of the fast paced ones we played last year. The first link is by a select group in Atlanta, while the second link leads you to us playing it last spring.
Meanwhile, squirrel references to the campaign is being very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the links to the performances. Our group in school was actually an honor guard part of the marching girls’s drill squad – we played school songs at each game (both team’s) among other stuff. We each had 2 bells (mine were big and deep tones – but not the giant ones) and we were responsible for them – like pets. Treated them like glass as they were so expensive. We were never allowed them to crash/touch each other and were put down very gently…we could have never hit them with anything – even padded.
Loved the performances and arrangements – bell music is so beautiful (nothing better for Christmas songs) and fun – you can feel the vibration as the notes play. Most people don’t realize all the techniques and skills involved. Thanks again!

This particular piece was the most difficult piece we’ve played. On a level of difficulty, it was a 9 of 12. (Handbell music is rated by difficulty). Meanwhile, we’ve started practicing some of the Christmas music.

I will be back, Frank! I’m just getting started on my Saturday and will take a nice break later and probably watch them all! I’ll let you know. I just whoed my husband this morning a YouTube Produced from Azusa Pacific University (where I work) advertising their on-line presence using the song, “Call Me Maybe.” I found it clever and entertaining, so I’ll probably start with “Call Me Maybe” orchestrated! I love a good Bugs Bunny cartoon, and the overture with him and Daffy Duck is a classic. But I think my favorite of all your offerings this morning is the lesson on how to twirl your tassels. I didn’t know you were born in Trieste. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful city. Very different from Cincinnati, but beautiful nonetheless.

I watched the Bugs Bunny clip – always a fan of cartoons; Riverdance took me back to the night I saw it live at the Eurovision – can’t believe that was eighteen years ago; and those dancing squirrels were very funny indeed!

lol! I couldn’t resist the squirrels (I can never resist squirrels), even if I’m over the Gangham style thing. Call Me Maybe for choir and orchestra was too much of a curiosity for me to pass up although it will mean having that song playing in my head for another week or so. lol! First I went back to Trieste, which I loved.
Then I went back to high school with Bugs and Daffy. To the night of the senior talent show, when two guys were dressed hilariously as Bugs and Daffy, doing the tap dance. I was working the lights and flirting with the real techies. Bugs and Daffy were heard, but often not seen!

That was quite an inspired selection Frank! I watched Bugs (shot straight back to my childhood), Choir (impressive), Trieste (lovely), Comic (profound), Squirrels (goofiness you’ve shared with me before that I still like) and Tassels (thought provoking). Couldn’t do the dancing videos since I’ve recently recovered from a knee injury and I’m just not in the mood for mellow sounds like your beloved handbells. Overall though, excellent!

Gotta pass on the Star Trek Animated series opportunity, but to be honest, my cartoon expertise is with those in the Golden Age of cartoons – which does not include an animated version of Star Trek. Glad you enjoyed this post. A more typical Saturday routine is honoring a classic cartoon character, but this week I tried something different (for me) … and it seems to be positively received. Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour was one of my favorites! Meanwhile, although I was born in Trieste, I left there at the ripe age of 3 months. Although I have returned, that was many years ago, so I do look forward to my next visit. he’s extra awesome because one of my entertainment heroes is groucho, and i see them as extremely similar, and it’s probably not an accident. i prefer the chuck jones bugs first, friz freleng bugs second. chuck jones was more about the verbal jousting and overall wit. freleng was a little less on the verbal and a little more on the physical.
