How was your weekend?
Ours was fine, but it included the expected and unexpected. First, Friday and Saturday gave us time on the ballroom floor. On the other hand, we had a birthday party for me planned on Sunday, but because attendees were primarily from our church, and given the unexpected death of a good friend was from church, cancelling my celebration was the right thing to do.
Thanks for everyone who stopped by this little corner of the work for surprise birthday post to my blogger friends. Meanwhile, my wife and I had a good day with a trip to the Museum Center for an Omnimax film (Flight of the Butterfly) and taking in the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit – followed by dinner. Meanwhile, here’s an update on my situation.
Returning after an emotional trip from Italy and dealing with the jet lag is a given. Reconnecting with bloggers after time away is demanding. Toss in the fact that I’m behind on my tax preparation, a time-consuming project just came my way, and then the sudden death of my friend – yep – all those added together equals overload. As I’ve stepped away from this blog for short time, a special thank you to all for the kind words I recently received
Here is my upcoming plan. Instead of posting 5-6 times per week, I hope to post 2-3 times per week over the next few weeks. I’m confident that I can keep up with replying. On the downside, I know my time at your blogs will be limited, if any. Please remember that I’m not abandoning you!
For your Monday Morning Entertainment, enjoy this commercial blooper because this couple makes me laugh. Have a good week, and I hope you stop by on Tuesday and Thursday.
Hi Frank, glad you had a pleasant weekend, and a good birthday under the circumstances. But Frank, where’s the beef? Or the video.

Good advice … after all, bloggers have a tendency to put pressure on themselves. Nonetheless, all will sort itself in time. 🙂

I’m impressed you can manage posting 2-3 times per week. I went down to just once a week, at least for now. Allows me more time for my creative writing. Only so many minutes in a day, which really stinks some times. 🙂

Happy Birthday Frank! I’m glad you are finding time to do things. I’ve cut down a lot on blogging, not because i don’t want to, but more to reflect to see what I really want to blog about. I’ve also got other projects under the radar which I will publish on my blogs. 🙂 Hope you have a nice week!

Indeed. In a perfect world, I would updated two to three times a week, but once is as good as it gets. So long as there is something consistently added, your reader base will continue to grow, and your hair won’t pop out by the roots.

I continue to send condolences in the loss of a good friend. It can be rather shattering for all. And as for your posting schedule, you know, there aren’t rules. The best we can do is the best we can do. That’s rather true for each of us in all that we do. You can be assured that the blogging community is very loyal and only wants what’s best for you! If you can give yourself a little break, I hope you’ll enjoy it! 🙂

Fasab,
I know what you mean about the taxes. As we know, all the forms take care of the exceptions for someone big.

The fasab system is, you make a dollar you pay ten cents tax, no loopholes, no allowances, no exceptions and I bet the government would collect a lot more money and spend a lot less trying to police it all. Never happen though 😦

Yes. Interestingly Russia has introduced a uniform 13% rate of tax on the income of individuals, although there are one or two exceptions.

Good idea to cut down on the blogging. I don’t know how people keep up with the daily blogging plus read all their buddies blogs, and still have a life.
Happy Birthday Frank :D. I didn’t know you were also an Aquarian. When is your birthday?
I missed the Dead Sea Scroll exhibition when it came to San Diego. I appreciate that you saw it for me.
OMG Frank that video was so funny (especially when the woman goofed) that I had to step away to catch my breath.

I’ve been blogging for 4+ years and never disclosed my actually birthday, so one of my treats was to surprise my readers on my day … so I actually posted this one minute after midnight (my time) on my birthday (Feb 17th) – that way I awaken to birthday greetings!
Glad you enjoyed the video … and yes, I too got a big laugh when the woman tried! The only thing I didn’t like about the Dead Sea Scrolls were the crowds. Interestingly, it was fun to learn that Cincinnati played such a big role in their studies. Thanks for the support!

i was recently considering cutting back my posts as well. i had been running at about 6 per week, sometimes 7. but i think i have too little time for other kinds of writing that might be more vital. and a few other blog friends have said the same thing – so it makes me curious. i wonder if there are stages in blogging, like the stages a star might go through before it fizz- nevermind.

In my case, I know this isn’t about reaching the fizzle stage … it’s just a matter of available time for the next several weeks. Then again, maybe it will lead to a new pattern …. time will tell.

(Quiet) Cheers for your birthday – sorry it’s late, but still catching up. Both of the films sound very interesting.
Sometimes you have to be gentle with yourself – post when you have time and something to say.
Have never understand how people can post everyday – it would be so overwhelming and take so much time away from real life.
Always enjoy your posts so take time and don’t burn out!

The Flight of the Butterfly was very well done, so keep your eyes open if you have an IMAX nearby. The Dead Sea Scrolls was an exhibit, which has a Cincinnati stop for 5-months. It was definitely interesting. Tons of history shared.
I had a system for posting each day, which actually worked for me. A key is not having a lot of writing with each post. For instance, my Satire Bits (Wednesdays) are very easy to do.
Actually, I’m not burning out (at least not yet), just short on time. Thanks for your insight.
