This is our second collaboration. The first one I asked questions, he responded with words and a supporting image. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/on-a-wave/ (You’ll love this pics)
I suggested that we do it again. This time he could select a theme and 5-6 pics matching his theme. He then told me the theme, but didn’t show me the pics. I wrote the words, then sent it to him … thus he inserted the pics into the appropriate spot in the text … returned it to me, and here it is. BTW – we live about a 12-hour drive apart.
Hopefully we can do this again, but change the order of the events.

They are not hand-tinted. Some are HDR (high dynamic range, which is a process by which 3 or more pics are taken at various exposures to try to catch all the light that your eye can see, then combined in a software program, seems to add vibrancy and depth to the pictures, some can be really surreal if you take it too far).

And, the two partially black-and-white ones are actually originally color photos, changed to black-and-white, then I added back in the piano and the aqua room parts in color…those two pics just seemed to need special treatment.

I am lovin’ the theme-oriented blogs. These pics are amazing. I loved old homes and things that show the intricacies of time. I have this old wooden shed in my backyard. Everyone says I should paint it. I am never gonna paint it – because a) I’m lazy and b) I like that it looks old and imperfect. Sometimes the beauty is in the cracks and the chips of paint and the imperfections. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not a photographer … just a point and shot with a common digital camera … thus why I use Steve for these photos!!!! Glad you enjoyed the collaboration.

You do a fine job. Try to remember the rule of threes (imagine a tic-tac-toe grid over the view and place the main object of interest at one of the intersections, or put horizons along one of the lines, etc). This helps a lot in improving photos.
