Actually, in regards to your mathematics, the square root of 36 isn’t 6. It’s ±6. I know it seems like a trite demarcation, but (as I explained in one of my blog posts seen here:http://www.debelit.com/2013/05/math-alert-yes-plus-and-minus-matters.html) it was the realization of the negative that helped us come up with the idea of antimatter and energy!
However, the rest of the post was rather clever and I really enjoyed reading all of the ways that 36 is in our lives. Great work!

Jeez, between you and FASAB, you’re gonna kill me with this numbers racket!
I’ll throw these two at ya. 36 is the state number of Nevada, which also happens to be the hull number of the World War 2 battleship that carried the state’s name (BB-36, USS Nevada). And the Convair B-36 is the only US plane ever built to both carry and be powered by nuclear technology – it was the last piston-engined US strategic bomber, needing additional jet engines when her own six propellers weren’t powerful enough to haul her around (4 jets were added, in two 2-engine underwing pods, giving birth to the phrase “6 turnin’ and 4 burnin'” to indicate all engines were working.) You can see a B-36 landing gear at your nearby USAF museum in Dayton, along with a “parasite’ fighter built to be carried aboard the plane as a close escort. (The XF-85 Goblin, truly the UGLIEST plane ever built! 😀 )
Okay, now, ENOUGH with the numbers! 😉

Congratulations on 36. My wife and I are approaching 28 years. Recently in a jewelry store, the clerk was stunned to hear of our number. Apparently, the ravages of our society really take their toll on couples. Have a Great Memorial Day. And I think the original intent was to honor the Union Civil War vets as some southern states would not recognize it for some time.
