Another weekend down in 2014, but many remain for the year. I hope your weekend went well, so what did you do?
We had an evening of ballroom, did errands related to the move, watched the Olympics, shoveled snow, played handbells on Sunday, and joined our dinner group for a fun evening around the theme of Board Games. We played a few games, drank good wine, and ate well … and all in the presence of good company. See for yourself!
Opening Night for Life: The Musical is scheduled for Thursday WEDNESDAY with curtain time at 9:30 pm (Eastern, US). Act 1 features songs with any of the following in the title: life, living, alive, lived, or live (that rhymes with give, not five). Get yourself ready, plus it’s Invite-a-Friend Night! Tell them to identify who sent them.

I will pass along you appreciation to the appetizer chef … and I will proudly say the dessert was our contribution to the night. We had to add a cream cheese frosting so the sprinkles would stick!

Saw a few human curlers this weekend on Portland’s downtown ice covered pavements. Accidental awards given out to those who actually hit Starbuck’s front doors. Awesome……

Tuesday I will get out my guitar and play a bluesy love song for Melanie. That will evolve into Darwin day on Wednesday as I adapt to a slightly warmer temp outdoors. I will survive if I am fit.

Ha, that was a funny ad, Frank! I’m missing all the Olympics, because I have no cable. It seems like there’s a lot of drama going on. What a nice dinner you had. What a great idea for entertaining! You’re having all the fun. It’s been raining all weekend here. Yay! But, it also feels good to lounge about inside. So, a pretty relaxed weekend for me.

Bumble,
Although NBC has much of the Olympics on its cable stations, they are broadcasting on their regular network in the evenings (and daytime on weekends).
I saw that your area was receiving a drenching from the Pineapple Express. Rain is one thing … deluge is another. Hopefully you’re in a safe area.

I went curling once – My curling iron didn’t look like that at all! Brrrrr!!
Your weekend life seemed rather exotic and interesting and it was very different to mine – which was rather quiet and painting focused.

Pauline,
Believe it or not, I have curled before because I went to a college that had a curling rink … I think the first in the US to have one. Meanwhile, I’ve got the feeling painting gave you some peace.

Wow, the chef is impressive, but my favourite is the trivial pursuit cheesecake! I normally make cheese cake using a muffin tin, freezing them individually, else I would eat it far too quickly. Scrabble is a perennial favourite in our house.
Jello week, eh? Well, I will have to pull out my Jello recipe book from the 1970’s, it was my mother’s, and has the oddest recipes. I will pass on the one’s where jello is mixed with either chicken or veggies, and keep to the ones with fruit.

Catherine,
The meal was with 4 chefs … that is 4 couples. The host determines the theme, gets the entree, and assigns a course to the other 3 couples … and we had the dessert. Good luck with Jello week!

Here it snowed… and a lot. Yesterday I took an TCM dietetics’ course (traditional Chinese medicine)… if I want to apply as possible to the rules in order to remain in good health for the next 50 years! 😀
Seriously, it’s since 2007 I no longer use drugs but I let myself heal only with acupuncture. To make it more conscious, it is also necessary to pay attention to my diet according to the philosophical concept (concept of Qi – Energy). It’s not enough to be a vegetarian and apply myself to become vegan… Have a lovely week :-)c
