On a Curly Monday

Another weekend down, actually our next to the last in this home. How was your weekend?

Ours was a mix of packing and events to get me away from the task at hand, so I did get some fun in as the wonderful wine tasting event and dinner at the home of friends – plus it was a handbell Sunday (of which we played well). The wine event is an annual fundraiser in which attendees as given a glass  and put into a room with 700+ wines for 2 1/2 hours. No … we don’t try to sample all!!!

A special thanks to all who visit and comment during my absence!

  1. Glad to know that Monday is Napping Day, Frank. That should come naturally to me at The Grind since this was the weekend where we lost an hour.

I hope all goes well with your homes, the current one and the new one.

  2. “Save Your Vision Week”—Now, that’s a week I need. It’s a good thing they’ve improved lenses. Otherwise I’d be beyond Coke-bottle glasses and into bullet-proof glass territory. Maybe even thicker than that… 😉

  3. Loved watching The Three Stooges. I remember my mom’s sister telling us that she couldn’t believe that my mom let us watch that. Whatever lady!
Good luck as you get to closing & movin’. I bet you’ll be happy when this is all over.
    Cheers! 🙂

  4. This past week was really nice at our place, the teenage boy came home for spring break (Middle child stayed at University). Yesterday DH drove the boy to his catch his first bus in Toronto, then preceded make a number of wring turns on the way out of the city. Toronto had construction everywhere making driving a real pain. He and the dog eventually made it home.

Crossing my fingers all inspections go well for you.

  5. An extremely busy time for you, Frank. Hope the house closing etc. all goes smoothly. We have our South African house on the market, so I’m most probably going to be exceptionally active whilst we’re over here. 😯 I think the baked scallops sound the most tempting. Well done with the hand bell ringing. 🙂

    • Marina,
The tasting is fun event and we try to attend every year … and of the 700+ wines, I pass by more than I try. 😉 Meanwhile, we had a streak of very nice weather, although a short blast of winter returns just to remind us that it can. Thanks for the best wishes on the move.

  7. 700 wines … very close to heaven or ???? It read that it’s time … to take on your new home.
    Good luck to you.
My weekend had sunshine … and Oscar, my new pet and I was out and about, my “sorry ass” was with us … not easy to leave behind. New medicine and I started to agree … and today blogging day – but with discomfort … but I made it to your world. *smile

    • Viveka,
The wine tasting I mentioned is a quite the feast! Yes, the countdown to moving is in single digits, although the bank has yet to say “Go” … but we wait. Glad to see that Oscar has accepted our sorry ass, so he’s quite the tolerate chap.

  8. I’m looking forward to Buzzard Day even though I won’t be in Hinckley this year to celebrate. The buzzards are here on the Eastern Shore year-round. I wonder if a few of them go up to Ohio to celebrate the day? 😀 Wishing you all the best with your move, Frank. I hope it goes smoothly and well.

  9. 3 Stooges are perfect for what’s going on around you! Wishing you best with appraisals ( may they come in above expectations!) Soak in all the days in the house – the move’s getting really close now.
Having NMI (No middle initial/name) I’ll skip on to the rest of the celebrations – “Everything is you do is right Day? Perfect!

    • Amy,
I agree as we must enjoy the final days here. After all, we’ve lived here approximately 9,960 days of our life. Meanwhile, I could eat an entire plate of chocolate chip cookies!

As far, so good … but we are still waiting on our bank’s final approval. No news is good news, but they can still could raise issues … so only time will tell. Thanks for the positive vibes. …. I could use a slow exhale.

  11. Good luck on appraisals and inspections! These are all teeth grinding, I always hate these. Are you feeling a bit of nostalgia settling in as you get closer to the move? I am sure you will feel good about getting the move behind you.

I am picking ‘organize home office’, maybe even starting early. Mine is, as usual tornado alley.

  12. Hey, you KNEW I couldn’t miss out on a Three Stooges salute – even if I am almost a week late. Yeah, I’m still alive, just a lotta stuff going on, not necessarily all that negative – just a lot. Hope to see ya soon. Until then, enjoy the new Cosmos (episode two is going MUCH better than episode one did), and I’ll see ya when I’m less tempermental – 98% temper, 2% mental. (And how! 😀 )
