On the Way to Rebalancing

Greetings to you on one of Cincinnati’s favorite days – Opening Day for baseball. No city embraces the season’s start as Cincinnati, and weather should be warm. Until Major League Baseball decided to focus on money over tradition, Cincinnati always opened the season. I’m contemplating taking time away from the task at hand to spend some time downtown, but only time will tell if I follow through with that thought.

How was your weekend? Come on now …. tell us about it.

We had an evening on the ballroom floor and attended a going-away party for a friend. Sandwiched between those two events was our continuing effort of unpacking and organization.

A huge thank you to those who participated in my extended Exploring series that took readers on a journey from the far reaches of the universe, then toward Earth, and finally landing on our planet with a trip around the world. It was fun to put together. Although I wasn’t replying to comments, I kept up with the reading, so thanks for the smiles you caused.

I will ease myself back into posting this week with at least three posts. Then again, I leave the door open to more.

  1. Scoop the poop… I need a huge sign for my neighbors. Boy they make my blood boil. Stay out of my yard!! Pooper!
Opening day!! Yea baby. Freezer stocked with ice cream and ready for the first pitch. Love it!

  2. Oh, he seems …kind of flexible! 😆
The way we get after a move!!!! I hadn’t mentioned that earlier so that I wouldn’t discourage you, but it’s the unpacking that is worst… Unless of course you create little Frank robots [lots of them] which will do things faster. You just sit comfortably and ask say FR1: “take out kitchen stf from box, wash and place neatly in cupboards”. Easy does it! 🙂
Have a great week, my friend.

    • Marina,
Both packing and unpacking are stressful, but in different ways. To me, the packing part was more stressful because it involved a deadline. Then again, unpacking is stressful because one has no clue where it is going and how long it takes! Nonetheless, we are progressing, but still plenty to do.

  3. I admire those athletes that can balance their entire body weight on one arm. Even when I was healthy and strong in my teenage years, there was no way I could do that, let alone the splits.

It’s nice to hear that you and your wife are slowly settling into your new place, is it another house Frank, or did you go condo? I personally dread the day, we decide to move, excluding the stuff hubby and I have collected over all the years, there is all of the kids stuff.

    • Tim,
Many thanks for the kudos. Although I don’t anticipate a successful season, I’m glad its back. Now, if I could only find a copy of the Ray Milland classic “It Happens Every Spring”.

  5. This kid is at the top of the physical bell curve for sure. A lot of this is redolent of gymnastic floor exercise and I’m thinking he’s got to be on a team somewhere. He looks like Olympics material to me. Awesome.

  6. Looking forward to celebrating Walking Day. It seems like a holiday made for me. 😀 My weekend was quieter than expected due to a deluge of rain. It was nice to take a break. Normal balance? What’s that?? lol!

  7. Glad you are able to find some semblance of balance Frank. Wishing your unpacking woes away, and hoping you will have more days on the ballroom floor…and wins 🙂

  8. Oh…so there is no front porch for us to have our coffee on? We’ll make do with sitting on the top of your car and enjoy the view from there….works for me.
I love condo living….it can be as involved as you want it to be. Gave up my gardens BUT volunteer for the City of Portland and tend two city blocks of roses (as you know) with a group of condo dwellers who live in the neighbourhood. Also…have just been given a third block to care for all on my own with a friend. It just doesn’t get any better than that! Wishing you well in this new adventure and life-style change.
High five to you and Mrs. aFA for taking on this new journey.
    Smiles always coming your way…Raye

    • Hey Raye,

No front porch, but a good size deck and a lower patio … and that side has the better view!

Condo living will be an adjustment for us, so time will tell. Heck, in inside our first month is the annual HOA meeting.

Cheers to your gardening to help make Portland the beautiful city that it is!

  9. Nice to see you catching a break from all your activities & stopping by the WP.
Always nice to “see” you 🙂

I’ll leave the balancing to the pros like the kid in the video.

  10. Happy you got in some dancing, slowly but certainly getting back to routines. Root Canal Day? No really? Just No Frank.

    Loved the video.

My sons are in heaven with baseball back in season, they are already sorting out the season here in Dallas and figuring out which games they will be able to see.
