On Politics
The nation is watching the Senate race in Kentucky. Although I’m in Ohio, I get a ringside view because Cincinnati TV stations air campaign ads for the northern Kentucky viewers. One thing for sure, each side is pointing out the outside money of the opposition.
As some Republicans are quick to say I told you so regarding the predictable chaos in Iraq after the primary withdrawal of the US military, I ask, Would ISIS be a factor if Saddam Hussein was still in power?
If the Arabs aren’t willing to fight ISIS on the ground, I say, Get out of there!
Congress continues its mantra of preferring second guessing and criticizing over taking responsibility and decision making.
I know Congressional Republicans have been a continual roadblock for President Obama, however, I wonder how often the White House (and possibly Congressional Democrats) have been equally obstinate.

I find it interesting that the state of Kentucky is getting some push-back about public funding of Ark Encounters, a theme park run by Answers in Genesis (AIG), the head organization of the Creation Museum. I said this was a no-no over a year ago, and stand by that today. After all, AIG prospective employees must “have read and can support the AIG Statement of Faith.”
Another season of Dancing with the Stars (DTWS) is under way. Several immediately seem to be a cut above the rest, but time will tell who develops. OK, DTWS fans, which of the pros do you think is my favorite?
My golf league goes longer than most, thus able to enjoy playing in late-summer weather. Two weeks to go and my team is in the hunt.
Because I used this week to ease back into blogging, no Saturday Morning Cartoons this weekend.
Thanks for another great collection of tunes for Life: The Musical. As always, I get the pleasure to listening to all the songs – although the omission of this one surprised me … and I dedicate this song to my friend at Lame Adventures who would never embrace this song.

Although political criticisms are easy targets, the politicians themselves make it easy. I’m not sure who I would like to see win … Leah Thompson was impressive, as was the Fresh Prince actor.

Obstinate politicians is nothing new … and who knows what goes on behind the scenes. … and I have full confidence in the liberal wing being able to be obstinate for their causes. Nonetheless, we are left to wonder.

Frank, even though I am by nature country music averse, I almost posted “Take This Job and Shove It” but I thought it might violate the rules (yes, I saw in your response to List of X that it doesn’t). I guess I was too tired from working at The Grind to figure that one out for myself. Last night my political consultant, Milton, told me, “We’ll get rid of ISIS and then we’ll get Vanilla ISIS.”

oh, i’m going to miss those little cute hummingbirds when they fly to where ever they fly to…i did not know they are very territorial with their feeders. who would think such tiny things could be so vicious trying to keep other rival hummingbirds away from the feeders. i agree with Sylvia, everyday is gratitude day…or at least we should make it a practice. cheers!

Better late than never they say. Having taken a day off from everything I find myself sadly behind, everything. I enjoyed the reads, all of them. I have to agree with Elyse on this one Frank, the Dems haven’t had the wherewithal to ‘obstruct’ and what would they obstruct? The shut down of the government, well that might have been a good thing don’t you think.

Other than the 41 times the House has voted to repeal the ACA what else Frank, have they sent for a vote? What other work have they done the Administration has ‘obstructed’ or been firmly entrenched on the other side on?

The House’s treatment of the ACA is ridiculous … but all I’m asking that when it comes to negotiations, could the WH be a roadblock. After all, like we say in dance, it takes two to tango.

And all I am asking is for an example. My observation of this president and his administration is he has consistently extended the olive branch and consistently been rebuffed. He has all too often given away far to much and then had to give away more. So no, I don’t believe we have a ‘two to tango’ situation in this case.

None of us know what goes on behind closed doors in negotiations, thus all I’ve done is raise the question of that possibility … which is what my statement provided.

You are right Frank, all we can see is what is out there. I suspect though we see pretty much the truth of it. I don’t believe there is much more than what we see. I suspect this administration wanted so badly to try to work with those who had no intention to work with him, he would have done damned near anything to compromise, including compromise the agenda he ran on. Which he did.
