On a Charlie Monday

How was your weekend? I’m sure you did something that you enjoyed, so come on .. tell us about it.

Mine was filled. It started Thursday night by attending a community theater performance of Young Frankenstein, then a college football game Friday night, ushering at Cincinnati Playhouse (Safe House, a premier run), practicing for our participation in a tango formation, and stuff around the homestead. Also, our weather was wonderful, and Monday is supposed to be super … which means the weather will be turning soon thereafter.

This week looks like a probable milestone week, The Blog Stats box near the bottom of the sidebar shows that I’m approaching 200,000.  I hope I get to see the turnover.

Last week I posted about the Arizona wine I receive from my Secret Santa. Jeff (@ The Drunken Cyclist) has organized the 2015 exchange. Although his deadline has passed, he invites my interested readers to join in the fun … but do so ASAP. Here’s the link to the post for the guidelines. Remember, ASAP.

Life: The Musical returns this week with Act 11 featuring Hope … so let your songs ready with Hope, Hoped, Hoping, or Hopeless in the title. Curtain time will be Wednesday, 9:30 pm (Eastern US).

  1. Yay, Frank’s blog post came out before I shut down my computer. Was just about to do it to go watch The Good Wife.

Definitely a gorgeous weekend in Ohio! I went for a wonderful long walk today while my men were at the Brown’s game. So pretty. So peaceful. Now I’m all ready for Monday. 🙂

  2. That was highly enjoyable – Charlie’s pretty darn good! Stats nearly 1.5 million when I looked! Thank goodness today is a national holiday here today [Labour Day] that got us away from any cranky co-workers being let lose on our Monday! Off to think about ‘hope’ – nothing springs to mind!

  3. Charlie’s rockin’ it! Sunny with cool breezes here. Could not ask for more perfect weather in Florida than what we had today. Went and looked at boats to buy when we sell the one we have. Wanna buy a boat?

  4. Now I learn it’s Save Your Back week, Frank?!?!? I’ve blown mine out this weekend moving a mountain of junk out of my dad’s house in SF this weekend! Waiting at the airport to catch the red eye back to the Apple now.

  5. I’d missed Charlie and Swayze, so thanks for this! “Because I’ve had the time of my life and I owe it all to you–hey baby!” Doesn’t get any better. Here’s hoping you hit 200,000 today, Frank 🙂

  6. A very unexciting weekend here. The young man will be quite disappointed with his mother, seeing I was suppose to do something exciting with hubby, but alas there was too much stuff to do around the house.

  7. What a dancer! That video is great!

I had a fabulous visit. A last minute call Friday from my niece saying that she and her 7-1/2 yr old daughter were going to come for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. I took them to the Lincoln Memorial, and my great nice discovered history. That real people did real things and that it makes us who we are. She read the Gettysburg Address and stood on the step where MLK gave his “I Have A Dream Speech” and was mesmerized. (I hope I have some time this week to write a post (although I cannot post pictures). It was a visit that I will remember for a very long time.

  8. This time of year is always fun. We live close enough to the high school football stadium to hear bands and games. With cooler nights it makes evening walks entertaining – we could walk over that way, but generally go on to lake or marina.
Once again we ran to a nearby beach for a sunny but not sweltering afternoon…as a reward to for major tree trimming (and the long time bundling branches and picking up pieces for Monday’s trash pickup)
Sounds like you had a seasonally appropriate weekend, too!

    • Mouse,
Ah yes … a touch of coolness is perfect for football … of course coolness is relative to location … but I had that at Friday night’s game! … Walking along the beach and marina this time of year also sounds great!!!

    • Mary,
Cheers to your weekend of good weather. Thanks on the 200K cheers. I see it as a milestone, but heck … I’ve been at this for 6+ years, so in that light, it’s very average .. but still a milestone. I think the turnover will occur sometime Wednesday or Thursday.

  12. I saw this video when I heard someone talking about it on the radio last week. It’s incredible, isn’t it? I would love to know if this little guy comes from a “dancing family” and I hope his parents are planning to give him lessons–future DWTS coach! Create a Great Funeral Day–even on Halloween week I’m a little uncertain that I want to think about that. 🙂 Looking forward to tomorrow’s Life; The Musical. I think I will really have to think about this one…nothing pops into my mind as quickly as some weeks! Good!

  13. Wow, this little man has truly the rythmen – I hope that he have a chance to develop it …. and he knows all Patrick’s moves … wonderful. I wouldn’t mind dancing with him. What a mover. Lovely Frank.
My weekend was all about production …. there will soon be a letter in the mailbox.
Have a lovely week Frank … in Loveland.
Looking forward to the musical starting up again, I will be in again.
