We adore chaos because we love to produce order. (M. C. Escher)

He who wonders discovers that this in itself is wonder. (M. C. Escher)
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it’s in my basement… let me go upstairs and check. (M. C. Escher)
I am always wandering around in enigmas. There are young people who constantly come to tell me: you, too, are making Op Art. I haven’t the slightest idea what that is, Op Art. I’ve been doing this work for thirty years now (M. C. Escher)

I admire anyone who tries to work out how to do it! Those endless staircases have always been a mind-blower for me ๐ Good one to feature Frank!

Pauline,
Because you love the endless staircase, I will say that I almost used it … but went with this one. I had a good video about it, but deleted the link and can’t find the video to show you. ๐ฆ

Escher has always been a favorite. His work is always entertaining.
As a kid I used to look at the ceiling and think how you’d walk around on it as the floor – furniture and stuff glued to the regular floor overhead – if the whole room rotated like a movie set. Those rotating room mechanisms seemed so cool – I think Fred Astaire danced on the walls as the room rotated one time in a movie? Now all done by computers no doubt.
Hope your week is rolling along smoothly!

Mouse,
I also like Escher … and the hand drawing the hand is one of my early favs. Meanwhile, speaking of Fred Astaire, this one is for you.

M.C. Escher is one of my favourite creative people. Tessellation is something that I completely appreciate. I love Moorish tiles and Mr Escher certainly loved Spain and blended it seamlessly into his work. I think that anyone who can work creatively within the mathematical framework of tessellation is amazing ๐

Great points of our Escher blended other things into his work … and he’s unquestionably brilliant!
