On Briefs for the Moment

The last post introduced the new header and BlogRoll page. Some of you may have noticed other new pages as well … but they aren’t really new because they were sub-pages before, and I don’t think they worked well that way.

During the break I prepared not one, but two cartoon posts, so this weekend is as good as any to have a cartoon post!

The next musical is preparing for the premier. I consider opening night being during my first week back, but wisdom has prevailed. After all, I don’t want to jeopardize a sellout. Nonetheless, the production team is aiming for a March 25th opening of the yet-to-be-announced musical. I can say this, it will be shorter than Life: The Musical.

I’m not sure if next week will be a full posting week or not, but I will be posting something.

Because I haven’t looked at The Onion in two weeks, here’s a snippet of what I’ve missed:

  • Man who stops dieting already seeing results
  • 13-year old drinking prodigy accepted to college
  • Passenger feels sorry for flustered toddler travelling with loud, obnoxious parents
  • God shoots himself while cleaning gun
  • Mitt Romney thinking about running for president in 2012

  1. As always this is a fun post! Love the opening image!? HA. I rather like open umbrella indoor day! But I am also intrigued by Children Craft Day. I am trying hard to imagine what to make with some of the local kids. That celebration makes me think of the great line by Lily Tomlin: “So peanuts make peanut oil–just what is used to make baby oil?” Have a fun weekend. I am looking forward to your cartoons and next musical.

    • Patti,
Good one … Gotta love Lily Tomlin! No indoor umbrella day here today as it will be used outdoors. Time for the spring floods! Glad you enjoyed the opening image as I used it on a whim … and it worked! Enjoy your weekend.

  2. Looking forward to the cartoon posts, Frank. And I’m definitely loving Bond. Fuego means “fire” in Espanol and it is an appropriate name for this song. These are wonderfully produced videos! Cheers!

    • Cathy,
Most of Bond’s songs a full of fire … and it seems that many (if not all) of their songs are one word. Meanwhile, the cartoon post will go up overnight in order to be ready for your morning.

    • Pauline,
That a way … now you think like me! I imagine the new musical will initially get some heads scratching, but we’ll be fine. It is warming … Except for the piles, the snow is gone. The grass is very soggy, the river waters are rising, so the floods are on the way … and today we expect a good dose of rain. Welcome to early spring. Then again, much better than the 8 feet of snow that an Italian village received yesterday.

  4. Hmm…I think The Day of Action Against Canadian Seal Slaughter is worth celebrating, and of course Sleep Day, and Smart and Sexy Day (who wouldn’t celebrate that combination?!) and Learn About Butterflies, because it’s nice to think about them being back. 🙂

  5. You’ve given me a nice smile thinking of a new musical challenge, Frank. I was just thinking the other day that I missed “Life.” I’ll be curious. The Mitt Romney thinking about running for President in 2012 is hilarious! And Bond today with a cartoon to look forward to! A nice full plate. 🙂

  6. Hmm, having trouble leaving a comment. so trying again.
Sunday looks like a busy day! One of the local St Patrick’s Day Parades is Sunday…meanwhile the participants and performers are bound to be perfecting their “performances” in the local bars?
Can’t wait to see the next songs to sing. Enjoy the weekend!

  8. Loved the Bond video. I also love bullfights and was disappointed that the video did not include some bull fight scenes. I know it’s not politically correct but bull fighting in Spain is like an existential ballet.

  9. I’m running (well, walking) out to get a few bags of potato chips. YAY … I have an excuse to eat them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE potato chips. Yes, they aren’t good for my health – the salt, the greasiness, the calories – but it’s Potato Chip Day !!! LOL 😄😄😄
Have you noticed I didn’t spell it with an “e” at the end like that politician I won’t mention?
Woo – Hoo …. the play is coming …. the play is coming. I can’t wait. 🎩
By the way, in reading that you have a new blog roll, I noticed my blog on the list … I am honored that you’ve included me on it. I have a HUGE SMILE and a little water in my eyes.
    THANK YOU !!!!! 😢 😄😄
