Another weekend is history, so who was yours?
My weekend was a full with working during the day Thursday through Sunday, an informal evening of dance without my wife, a formal night dancing at a grand ballroom with my wife, and Quickstep formation practice with her as well. (I’m drafting a post about Quickstep.) The above probably accounted over 90% of my waking hours.
Although I announced Meals: The Musical, I don’t want to start it until I get a full-week of blogging in the books – and hopefully this is the week.
Besides an important reorganization of this blog, I have been able to prepare some posts that are in the queue while creating others that are still rough copy. So, a full week of posts is possible. On the other hand, I’m behind on reading your blogs and with housework.
Celebrations for Your Week
(Week) Week of Solidarity with People’s Struggling Against Racism & Discrimination, Tsunami Awareness Week, Phace Syndrome Awareness Week, Cleaning Week, Root Canal Awareness Week, Youth Violence Prevention Week, Meat-Free Week, LGBT Health Awareness Week, Bubble Week, Spring Fever Week, Sleep Awareness Week, Clutter Awareness Week, Second-Hand Shopping Week
(Mon) Puppy Day, Near Miss Day, OK Day, Meteorological Day, Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day, Turtle Day, Dixie Cup Day, Cable Car Day, Melba Toast Day
(Tues) Chocolate Covered Raisins Day, Tuberculosis Day, Day of Human Right and for Dignity of Victims, Family Day, Houdini Day, Brave Hearts Day
(Wed) Manatee Appreciation Day, Letting Go of Stuff Day, Diabetes Alert Day, Medal of Honor Day, First Pancakes Day, Old New Years Day, Sleep Day, Pecan Day, Lobster Newberg Day, Tolkien Reading Day, Waffle Day, Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
(Thurs) Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Wear Purple for Epilepsy Day, Spinach Day, Nougat Day, International Sister Cities Day, Legal Assistants Day
Let’s start the week with a double feature of chuckles. First is a short commercial, but the second is a trip to an amusement park for an animation of the (to be) world tallest coaster scheduled to open in 2017. Enjoy the ride – and have a good week.
Beautiful weather this weekend! Long hikes–4 and six miles–a little writing, cooking out! The end of the weekend has arrived too soon!

Quickstep is hard to do! Looking forward to the post, for sure. My weekend started off being locked out of my house, calling a locksmith cos the neighbors only had one key and I had locked the deadbolt…going to the gym, working outside in the garden, and that’s about it. Hub’s been gone 1 week, 5 more to go.

Seashells,
Quickstep is fast, so for starters, one has to be able to keep up. Of course what dancers do at the masters level is beyond my comprehension! Meanwhile, locking self out of house is one thing, but then hiring a locksmith to get in is another. Oh well … it happens. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed the ad. I actually saw the one that is a bit different, but it wasn’t on YouTube. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how well Duncan does with training. 🙂

That commercial was a hoot! Every time I watch that roller coaster video, my stomach does flip-flops!!
I would go meatless for a week but my kids would disown me! Don’t know what I’d call my own holiday but that could be fun. Will ponder this as I munch on chocolate-covered raisins and celebrate getting rid of more stuff!
Have a great week and looking forward to your posts!

Although I may want to ride the coaster, I know that the chances of my body responding in a negative manner are high … in other words, I’ll pass on the ride … so I’ll join you on sharing the Costco size of chocolate covered raisins. Meanwhile, you can see how short my time was because I didn’t name my own holiday.

Ha ha! When Mick and I first saw it, we were both “yes!” – he with more enthusiasm than I… Oh well, I guess we’ll just call it “Me” day and leave it at that ~ what you do with it is optional!

You would never get me on that thing – just watching a few seconds of it has me feeling decidedly nervousl! Nothing will ever convince me someone won’t fall out when it turns upside down – so I wouldn’t go anywhere near the vicinity either. That’s one customer lost to the park – I wonder how many others there are like me. Every day in this house is puppy day, and kitty day too! I shall look forward to your post on the quickstep!

I particularly like the make up your own holiday day on Thursday! I’ll have to think of something good. Just looking at the still picture of that roller coaster without even starting the video is enough to give me a flutter – not for me thanks! Have a good week Frank 🙂

Roller coasters aren’t for everyone, and this one is a bit different, plus one that I probably would do well with … so I’ll pass, too … but I did watch the video! 😉 … Hopefully I will remind everyone (on Wednesday) about making up their own holiday … so the Satire Bits post have have ideas!

I like the “make up your own holiday day”. Frank, I was exhausted just reading your first paragraph! Sounds like a whole lotta fun, though! We spent the weekend playing outside in the yard, and gardening. Enjoying Florida spring, and heavenly warm temperatures, and mild lakeside breezes! It was gorgeous! Have a fabulous week. xo

Glad to know that you are exhausted from my weekend. 😉 The Florida spring sounds wonderful … and spring is teases us here. Given your location, the coaster in the video is scheduled for Orlando! Given that you have a good heart, I think you will enjoy the previous post. …. Plus think about the upcoming holiday of yours so you can share it here on the next edition of Satire Bits (posts Tuesday night)

I just went hunting to find out what “Phace” syndrome was and you could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out. My sister’s daughter has it! She was born with a large facial hemagioma that spread into her throat. As she grew it slowly disappeared (which is quite normal) but she also has one eye where her pupil has a “keyhole” that bleeds into her iris. She coped with it all amazingly well but when she was 6 she was very thin and very pale. She was also very active. My sisters family doctor did a bit of research on her symptoms and put 2 and 2 together and realised that she might have other health problems associated with her condition that no-one was aware of. Turns out she did. She had open heart surgery to correct holes in her heart. She is now 23 years old and dances (ballet) and her passion is karate. What an incredibly small world it is Mr Frank! By the way, those undies certainly do look comfortable and doing away with “the stink” er…who wouldn’t want that?! ;). I am not even going to LOOK at that rollercoaster vid as I would most likely barf on my slippers. It is only 4.28am after all and I don’t “do” amusement park rides 😉

Thanks for your encounter with Phace Syndrome. Maybe you couldn’t see it, but I had a link on the term. Meanwhile, your niece has had quite the journey to get to where she is today. A tip of the cap to her! Meanwhile, save the coaster ride for Stevie Boy.

I did see the link and that’s where I found out what “Phace Syndrome” actually was. I was curious so I headed off and as I was reading through I started to realise that “Phace syndrome” was what Sabrina had as a child. We don’t call it that here.

“No pinch, no stink, no sweat,” sounds ideal to me. Thanks for the laugh, Frank. I had a ‘try to paint a few birds day’ today. 😦 I ended up painting them all out again. Might try again tomorrow. You certainly did a lot of dancing this weekend. It must keep you both very fit. 🙂

Sylvia,
When I saw the “try to paint” phrase, I immediately thought re-do time. Now we hope that a different day yields a different result. …. and yes … dancing is a good exercise, and one can work up a sweat!

Hi Frank! I will be on that roller coaster one day. I only ride the tallest, most fastest ones there are at any amusement park – love it. Rode “The Gatekeeper” last summer at Cedar Point, but I like The Magnum better. Don’t even get me started on roller coasters. I would love to celebrate “Sleep Day” but I don’t know what that is anymore!

Sleep Awareness week – going to show that to The German who is determined to let us know all night long if even a leaf falls or a June Bug crawls across the window….and then she cheerfully naps all day…even Molly is sleep deprived. (And it’s Puppy Day..must wake them up and let them know)
Dancing through the weekend sound lovely. Elegance and grace – the world could use more of that!
(and envious of you getting a stockpile of posts all done)
Hope your week is full of smiles!
