Friends of ours just returned from an Argentina-to-Chile cruise. The day before boarding the ship, they took a tour of a place I didn’t know along the border of Argentina and Brazil. Once I saw this video, I knew this was a fitting post for us to explore … and the music is a perfect match for the scenery.

Drones can give us a front row seat at the best show on earth it seems! Aren’t they spectacular! I had heard of them, but never seen this view before – I wonder what the noise is like when you are in the vicinity. The sea is my favourite place on earth and a good waterfall, like this comes a close second! I like the second quote! For me the natural world is my church.

I saw many waterfalls during my traveling but Iguazu is really the most impressive one. I loved the Zabesi’s as well… or even the Salto del Angél in Venezuela (less large but extremely high!)

Iguazú Falls. Uruguayan short story author (poet and playwright) Horacio Quiroga wrote a dark story about a man’s last hours adrift on the river that drains at these falls. He got a snake bite by unwittingly stepping on a yaracacusú and floated in his canoe for hours seeking help along the river that drains at these falls until he could breathe no more. The story is “A la deriva.” I think you can find it in translation online. This brings back lesson plan memories…i easily taught this story a couple dozen times.

Very impressive falls. I’d like to see that someday. It reminded me of the trip we took on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara. This is one of those perfect uses of drones with HD cameras. I like the nearly full-circle rainbows.

I think waterfalls are spectacular and awe-inspiring, but I like the feeling I get from simply walking along waterways–river walks, around a pond in a park, walking on the beach and hearing the waves.

The raw rage of a single rain drop magnified beyond recognition. Am a sucker for a waterfall, just as am for a babbling brook.

I’ve heard of Iguazu falls, but never seen it. Beautiful. Besides being a necessity of life, water does play a major part in so many ways – not to mention how much property values go up for waterfront or even water views. (I haven’t got either, but go to a nearby park frequently to walk my dog along the bluff trail and see the sea. Some days you can hear the surf roaring long before getting to the part of the trail where the view is.) Guess I’d have to go with the Mike May quote.

Frank! I had to go away and see if I could find out what the yellow water is all about. Is it natural, or man-made pollution?
Well, it appears not an easily forthcoming answer. Although, Yellow Fever pops up a lot.

I thought the yellow water was due to the tourists and locals urinating in the water for good luck.Otherwise, I suspect a mineral deposit. But I will ask my friends on what they noticed. Glad you enjoyed this.

Great video to watch, Frank. I still think Victoria Falls is more impressive because of its sheer intensity and width. Maybe if I visited the Iguazu Falls myself, I’d be able to form more of a comparison.

This was just magnificent. It would be surreal to see that in person. I flew over Niagara in a helicopter and would want to do the same here. But until that day hopefully comes, that drone did a beautiful job of capturing its beauty. Thanks for posting this 🙂

Wow! I wasn’t at all familiar with these falls! They are unbelievable! I like all the quotes, but I guess “Water is the driving force of all nature” is the best. I was born under a water sign and I spend as much time as I can near the ocean! We have moving water in our backyard and I need the sound to sleep at this point…and yet we are experiencing an epic drought! Water is very much on my mind!

That’s a lot of falling water, so it has to be loud. Friends of our visited last month … and it was one of their favorite spots on their trip!
