  1. “…Gerald Ford, the only US president …and never born” – so what, he just appeared? Poof! And he was? 😉

Most interesting facts there, Mr. Frank!

  3. I too picked up on the Gerald Ford factoid – I didn’t know he was never elected and am wondering if he was a secret prototype of an AI trialed on the American public to see if anyone was awake……. What do you know that we don’t Frank? Congrats to Mrs Right for making it through so many years and so many number facts! 🙂

  7. Must admit my eyes glazed over before I reached the end of your saga of 38…but I always like to see the enjoyment someone gets out of something that’s foreign to me. Thirty-eight years must mean your life has been graced with a great friendship, maybe a rare one too. All the very best wishes to you both!

  8. A celebration should be forthcoming…besides a fine dinner with a lovely (I’m sure of that) devoted (sure again) life companion. Lists, numbers, scuffed tops of shoes from stepping out too far or fast on the dance floor, to you both many more rounds with the tune machine and that glazed look of love from Mrs. aFa (love it when I’m right…right?). Carry on, WILD THING!! RRR

  9. Happy 38th! I started counting up your tidbits of info expecting it to total 38, but when it went on after that I stopped so no idea how many there actually are.,,,,,,thinking 38 would have been the perfect amount,

    • LB,
I have done posts about numbers both ways … that is matching the featured number or not matching it. The main factors are the way I frame it, the number of factoids I gather, and what I’ve done in the past. So yes … this one didn’t match. Thanks for the best wishes.

  10. Frank, I just read your insightful yet comical comment responses to the President that was elected and never born lol. I just couldn’t stop laughing. Happy 38th Anniversary my friend! You guys inspire me to find someone lovely, marry him, and make him fix stuff around the house LOL. Just kidding.

  11. You have introduced me to a new mathematical term today Mr Frank. A “nontotient” eh? I will tuck that away in the recesses of my mind in the cupboard marked “do NOT open” with all of the other mathematical terms and memories. I am most interested in how Mr G. Ford was never born Mr Frank. Was he an alien? I understand the never elected. Mr Hitler was never elected to attempt to take over the world. We have many “I never elected that sod to do that!”‘s but not many that were never born in the first place…tell me more…

I would imagine the A38 in Budapest is thronging with hipsters all imbibing in some kind of specially brewed “A38” beer specifically for the establishment and nibbling on artisan homemade crackers slathered in A38 Danish cheese. OH to be a hipster fly on those walls…

I went to have a squizz at the 38th street diner site but was met with a nice polite box that informed me in red “We’re sorry, but something went wrong”. They then informed me in a nice light grey (so as not to tax my addled eyes after all of that pillar box red) “we’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly”. How very polite and what excellent grammar Mr Frank. We might not have been able to “see” the 38th Street diner but from this little box we get the feeling that they are very polite, that your order will be taken with extreme accuracy (and grammatical and spelling perfection) and will be delivered post haste and NO-ONE’S orders will ever be forgotten or late or they will be given some complimentary fries. I want to visit this establishment to tell them that I truly appreciate this small box and all that it promised. I think I might add that to my bucket list…

Oh DEAR! Another fail Mr Frank. This time it takes me to the large sparkly colon and a message that says “Oops! That page can’t be found”. Still excellent grammar but no banana.

Same problem for Latitude 38 Mr Frank. I realise that most of your dear constant readers will have skipped over this most vital of information but some of us don’t have lives and tend to hover in the annuls of other people’s blog pages hunting for “experiences”. I didn’t even want to see the sailing page to be honest. That is how little I have to do at 4.16am on Wednesday, April 15th 😉

Even I have my limits. I didn’t even test the link for “Sonnet 38 (XXXVIII) as I didn’t fancy wading through 154 sonnets (not my favourite variety of poetry). I will, instead, gift you one of the most beautiful poems that I have ever heard. I was privileged to have read it on a good friends Facebook page as a tribute to the happiness that she has felt since she upped sticks and moved from Olalla Washington to Hawaii to live off grid. A risky business, but sometimes you have to pick up your life and go where your heart flows. I would like to gift you and Mr’s Frank this amazing poem and want to wish you ALL of the happiness with your time left here on this magical little rock floating around a small star in a galaxy far, far away. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Frank. May there be MANY more and here’s to happiness 🙂

    So Much Happiness
It is difficult to know what to do with so much happiness.
With sadness, there is something to rub against,
a wound to tend with lotion and cloth.
When the world falls in around you, you have pieces to pick up,
something to hold in your hands, like ticket stubs or change.
    But happiness floats.
It doesn’t need you to hold it down.
    It doesn’t need anything.
Happiness lands on the roof of the next house, singing,
and disappears when it wants to.
    You are happy either way.
Even the fact that you once lived in a peaceful tree house
and now live over a quarry of noise and dust
    cannot make you unhappy.
Everything has a life of its own,
it too could wake up filled with possibilities
of coffee cake and ripe peaches,
and love even the floor which needs to be swept,
the soiled linens and scratched records…..
Since there is no place large enough
    to contain so much happiness,
you shrug, you raise your hands, and it flows out of you
into everything you touch. You are not responsible.
You take no credit, as the night sky takes no credit
for the moon, but continues to hold it, and share it,
and in that way, be known.

    • Narf,
What an awesome poem. Many thanks! Love the analogy of how happiness floats.

Sorry about the links. Whew … very odds because I’m careful, so many mistakes is quite odd. Oddly enough, the Sonnet 38 link worked. I repaired the others … but the NYC diner (Oops, with red-outlined box) is an issue at their site. Nonetheless, many thanks for letting me know.

Regarding the US President never born and never elected, me guide you to the comments.
      a) see my reply to Ms. Pauline for the never elected

      b) In terms of never born, he was born as Leslie Lynch King, Jr …. name changed later in life to Gerald R Ford, Jr.

    • Val,
Isn’t that Gerald Ford factoid so cool. He was already out of office before a history buff told me … and he posed it to me in the form of a question – then later explained because I had no clue about his name change.

You have applauded our longevity before, so I realize the sincerity of your congrats. 🙂
