Oh wow … Summer-like weather descended on Cincinnati this past weekend – and it appears to continue throughout the upcoming week. How did you spend you weekend?
Our weekend was a small-bit slower than normal because we took it easy Saturday morning and early afternoon. Then again, we still had ballroom time, Quick Step formation practice, ushered at the Playhouse (Vania and Sonia and Masha and Spike), and I worked a shift.
The play was entertaining because a comedy with dysfunctional family members works. It could have been a bit shorter, but we enjoyed it … and given that we ushered, it was free. Here’s what is written on Wikipedia about the play, and take note of the original actors.
It’s possible that one of the posts this week will be something new – something I’ve never done before – believe it or not, writing fiction – but, I seriously doubt this will be a regular endeavor. We’ll see how the week goes.

There are too many marvelous choices, aFa. I can’t decide which one…there should be a No Decision Day! that would be mine for sure. Busy week ahead…mulching all the garden beds. And…I literally “got my rocks off” by purchasing 3 of the biggest rocks for final landscape touches…700 lb. heavies. Big ones. Happy birthday presents to me! Super cool!! Grins all ’round…

Oh! That chihuahua is hysterical! We spent the weekend celebrating family birthdays, and since one will be on Cinco de Mayo, we had dinner at a favorite Mexican restaurant. All good. I’d enjoy the chance to broaden my theater-viewing opportunities by ushering. I might think of that in the future! I did enjoy “Friday Night Jazz” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. That’s always a great way to start any weekend. 🙂 Now back to work tomorrow…oh well!

Debra,
Friday Night Jazz at a museum sounds like fun … and I see the program is April through November. Hope you can attend more.
A family gathering for a birthday coinciding with Cinco de Mayo is always a good event – well, as long as the honoree doesn’t get tired of Mexican food celebrations. Glad you enjoy the featured dog!

We spent the weekend washing windows, screens and curtains. The weather was perfect for spring cleaning. Cleaning will continue on with my laptop in for service, this will be the start of week two without a laptop. How sad am I?

Went to northwestern New Mexico to hike the Ah-shi-sle-pah Wilderness and the Lybrook Badlands…rough, desolate, isolated places far off the beaten track. Lots of hoodoos and bizarre rock formations. Quick trip, but lots of photos.

Hi again Frank! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing that video before and just love it! Didn’t have a regatta last weekend, so I enjoyed working in the yard as well as a house full of my kids’ friends playing video games and watching movies. I can’t wait to see your fiction piece!!!

Yes, it makes for a lot of interesting “excitement” with teenagers from high school and college laying around and taking over my house! Glad I was able to be outside at times 🙂

Yes – we have a very open house and people come and go all the time. I worked hard on getting it that way so both of my kids would want to be here with their friends who I’m close to as well. I don’t see empty nest syndrome ever happening in my future – don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!

It sounds like you had a busy weekend. We saw Vania and Sonia and Masha and Spike last year in Philadelphia and enjoyed it, too. It was also beautiful weather here! Enjoy the rest of your week.

This is the version we saw, Frank. Since we were in Philadelphia, the Bucks County setting resonated with many in the audience. I believe later that spring Christopher Durang played one of the roles at the Bucks County Playhouse. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/252899575.html

Knowing that Bucks County is in the Philly area, I imagine your audience enjoyed the references. The original play included David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver.

Fiction, my god Frank your a brave man. What’s next; bull riding, alligator wrestling, tightrope walking across Niagara Falls, though these examples can be less scary than writing fiction. I give it a try every once in a while; it is good for ills you I find. Given what I have read hear I’d like to take a stab at a title, ‘My Tea With Saraha Palin’.
Hug Week and Pet Week, I’ll combine. Every week is Hug Week with one big brown-eyed English Cocker Spaniel by the name of Elvira.

Oh yes … fiction … I know, it’s hard to believe, but hey … create a story around familiarity. Hope you stop by as it goes live 9:30 pm (Eastern). Meanwhile, that’s a great title for your story!!!!
