Greetings on this holiday Monday in the USA!
Given the 3-day holiday weekend, I’ve developed this post ahead of schedule. If all goes as planned, our weekend will include two ballroom events, visiting the Cincinnati Museum Center for at least one (maybe two) Omnimax films, a bit of work around the condo, a long walk to town (and back) for lunch, work, and hopefully some infrequent down time at home. What did you do this weekend?
Meals: The Musical returns this week. I wanted “Seafood” as a theme, but after researching the topic, I’m not convinced about the availability of songs. Therefore, Ingredients is the theme. Think flavors as herbs, spices, extracts, and other common ingredients that aren’t dishes themselves … however, no fruits or vegetables (a previous act) and no chocolate (reserved for later). There is a lot of leeway here, so chose judiciously.

Monday is Memorial Day in the US, so I’m passing on the normal Monday frivolity for one of my favorite military tributes. Have a good week.
I hope your weekend is going as planned, Frank. Today, I watched my oldest graduate high school. It was a wonderful and strange day all in one. Enjoy Memorial Day!

Carrie,
Going as planned … and congrats to Mom on her first graduation. I imagine proud and strange emotions for you. What’s next for the young man?

He’ll be going to college in Cleveland, so he won’t be too far away. Far enough to be away from his parents, but close enough to visit them on the weekend for pizza and laundry facilities. (But luckily he does his own laundry…)

Good for him … and it seems good for Mom.

Debra,
Our normal mixed bag of activities, but also abnormal down time (Saturday of all days) … but that’s OK.

Have a nice weekend Frank, that extra day is always a treat. Will you attend a service of some kind to mark Memorial Day? [We always have a Dawn Parade for ours and interestingly in recent years attendances have been growing]. Now I need to go hunt down some exotic ingredients …. with music ……….

Pauline,
No parade for us this year, but we will be attending the Omnimax film about Normandy … well, at least that’s our plan.

Val,
Saturday was an unexpected downtime day … after doing some work in an around the place, we walked to town for lunch and flavored shaved ice, walked home, then stayed in to finish season 1 of House of Cards.
Your day? Although wine may be on your docket, I think Missing Children Day is the one tugging at your heart.

Robin,
Towel Day … who would have thunk it? 😉 … So far, the weekend has gone well … even had a rare day without much on our schedule, which is quite the rarity.

Merril,
Yes, we had a good weekend, but for us, actually low key .. but the weekend included what we thought it would.

Slugs return from Capistrano?? Just got home from Cedar Point – rode Rougarou! Waited almost 2 hours – but should have known better on Memorial Day…It’s floorless, you feel a strange sensation like you’re on the tracks. Not as smooth as Millenium, which is my favorite, but fun! Hope you had a great weekend as well 🙂

Kelly,
That a girl … way to get out to the Land of Coasters. I used to love coasters, but once I developed motion sickness, I’m wise for staying away from them … but I do miss them!
Our weekend went as planned, and even included some necessary down time.

Pleasant is a good description of our weekend … and not hectic as it many times is.

Hope your weekend was as fun as your description Frank. We were busy, plus included a 3.25 mile run plus a neighborhood walk. Family gatherings that are always fun. Have a good week ahead.

My husband and I used to walk and run between 10 and 20 miles every weekend, all depended on the schedule. Today much less, but so relevant to us – we do palettes every Saturday (like golf for you). Have a beautiful evening.
