  1. How did it get so late so soon? Hard to believe we’re almost at the half-year mark. Especially enjoyed Al Stewart and Alan Jackson, Frank. An interesting and informative post, as always.

  2. The first Monday in June is when we celebrate the Queen’s Birthday with a long weekend Frank – which kicks the month off nicely for us. [It’s not her real birthday though.] June is also my son-in-law’s birthday, Mid Winter Festival and the beginning of the real wintery weather usually 🙂

  3. Happy June, Frank! I was one of those June brides. As well as celebrating our wedding anniversary, my husband will be retiring from teaching this month. And this weekend, is my younger daughter’s bridal shower.
I didn’t realize we can embed Getty Images on WordPress. Cool!

  4. Your call to increase my awareness on accordions during the month of June will center on Alfonso Ponticelli and his band “Swing Gitan.” The group is Chicago’s premier gypsy-jazz band and plays the 1930s-style music of guitarist Django Reinhardt. Some of Alfonso Ponticelli’s arrangements feature a solo accordion, which I especially enjoyed when I heard the group several years ago at “The Green Mill,” a Chicago jazz club made famous by gangster Al Capone, who each week sat in the same stage left leather booth, which I sat in briefly until asked to vacate by the management.

  5. June sure is a crowded month, Frank! Thanks for all of the June music, Al Stewart is always a favorite. We have lots of June birthdays in our families, which is fun with all the family gatherings. But to me, June is the quintessential month of roses, and they are starting to bloom here with abandon. Colorful, fragrant and the essence of romance 🙂

  6. I didn’t realize what a busy month June was. Personally, I love June for baseball games. All apologies to my Yankees, but I love going out to watch my independent league team. It’s a great night out.

June is a start of more fans attending baseball games … so hats off to that. Meanwhile, my Reds are primed for a fire sale. Cheers to independent league baseball!

  8. Now that we are finally getting some relief from the rain, perhaps I will welcome June the way I should! We are finally seeing the sun and the beginning of heat, welcome June. Men? Celebrate Men? Well okay, I will go with that.

Fabulous music and some wonderful images Frank. Loved this one.

  9. I’m playing catch-up, dear Frank. I’ve fallen behind in my readings! Listening to Al Stewart as I write this… Completely forgot about him and his comforting voice. Will be listening to one of my favourite country singers next, Mr. Alan Jackson… ooohhh….. I’m assuming the Getty video everyone is talking about in the comments is the second video which is, of course, not available for moi? Grrr…

In the past couple of years, June has been so-so weather-wise. Have you noticed a shift as well? The nice hot weather starts around mid-end-June and goes all the way to October (I remember as a kid being able to wear my new leotards and woolen skirts on the first days of school in September. Now, fuggedaboutit! Too hot!)
