  1. I was long asleep while the earlier comments were going on. 🙂 Happy 7th Blog Anniversary, Frank. I’ve never thought so much about 7 before.
And since you asked, I prefer reds, like a cabernet sauvignon, but I also like lighter reds, Malbecs, and sangria with friends. No 7&7 though!

  2. Seven seems to be your number Frank – congratulations on hitting seven years of blogging, that’s a lot of dedication. A lot to the single number seven – quite a list!

  3. I’ve always known the number seven carries a lot of significance, but this post really brings it home. Wow, Frank, you outdid yourself with this one. How interesting to read through it. So much relevance the number plays in religion as well. And of course, I loved #51. 🙂

    • Catherine,
Interesting link about the Canadian 7 (Group of 7) – especially because I haven’t heard of them. Then again, I don’t know many artists. Interesting how 11 (not 7) names are on their list. Meanwhile, thanks for the pat on the back. 🙂

  5. Happy Seventh Anniversary, Frank!
Well, I’m in my 7th Heaven after reading this! Too, bad I was out all day, because I would have loved to have been the 7th to comment. I think that honor went to Trent Lewin… I could be wrong, as I am in healing mode after having a week of fun (7 days) w/ my old pal, and I’m sure I drank 7 somethings of red wine.
I’m sure this is at least my 7th time wondering if you are a member of Mensa.

    • Resa,
No Mensa for me, but I enjoy worthless information.

I just checked, and yes – Trent was the 7th to comment – so I did let him know. Thanks for the tip. How did I miss 7th Heaven? … good addition.

Wow … 7 days of good times with your friend … time to get some rest. Oh … and thanks for the anniversary wish … and as you can tell, I’m laying low on this one.

  6. For all of that, I was surprised that the perennial pubescent pastime “Seven Minutes in Heaven” didn’t make the list. But more importantly, congratulations on seven years of passion and hard work. In a world where people quit all too often, you’ve stuck with it. Kudos.

I shall end with a haiku, the second line of such form containing seven syllables:

    A hearty huzzah
    For him who has persevered.
    To seven more, Frank!

  8. This is an amazing compendium, Frank! Many, many of these fats were unknown to me. This one alone was most intriguing: “51) Chromosome 7 has 2,146 genes, including 39 diseases & disorders – such as cystic fibrosis, schizophrenia, types of osteoporosis, and Maple Syrup Urine Disease.” You did your research!

  10. Because 7 is the most commonly rolled number with a pair of dice when playing craps it plays a big part. Rolling a 7 (or 11) on the come-out roll means a win, but once points are established rolling a 7 before hitting the point means crapping out (losing).

    • LB,
Absolutely correct … thus why craps may be the only game in the casino where a person can get with the house … but one must do it from the start when the odds are against the house.

  11. “The number seven was considered “virgin” by the ancients because no number goes into it (without remainder), and its geometric construction cannot be captured by compass and straightedge.

Thus it appears to us as objects we cannot grasp like the colors of the rainbow and tones of the musical scale.

The predominance of seven in religious and mythological symbolism reveals its role as the number of stages in a whole process, from the number of crystal systems and endocrine glands to chakras and “heavens” clues to the stages of our spiritual journey.”

  12. Where do you find everything? It is amazing, Frank….My son would have loved this post. His favorite number was 7.
I love wine…..just haven’t been able to drink it much in the last year. It Makes Me Hot….I mean Hot. Sweaty hot. We drink the cheap stuff. I like White Zinfandel with Peach or Strawberries flavors.
I love Champagne but it has been YEARS and YEARS since I had any.
My first wine was our homemade elderberry or dandelion wine.
Store bought : Strawberry Boone Farms ??? The real cheap stuff.
And Andre’s Cold Duck. I was in my late teens early 20’s then.

    • Sarah,
You made me laugh this morning as you caused me to flashback to Boone’s Farm and Andre’s Cold Duck. Because you enjoy the bubbly and the fact that it’s been a while, here’s a treat for you … a Prosecco – a light tasting sparkling wine from Italy that is very refreshing. Cheers.

  13. Seven always comes to mind when gambling (not that I gamble – hate the idea of it). But, you’ve given us a great many to think about. Anything that comes up with Seinfeld makes me laugh. george Costanza was sucha putz. Great list for us to ponder and have for cocktail conversation.
Speaking of cocktail – I didn’t see Pinot Grigio. My favorite after red wine. I don’t have any particular brands. I let the man in the store make recommenddations. 🍷
    Happy Monday …
