  1. A birthday card truly worthy of its author. (Frank, can’t believe you still have those shoes!) I vividly recall Michael Jordan’s 63 points. I also recall Tom Dempsey kicking that 63 yard FG for the lowly Saints on the final play at home against the Lions. There was much controversy because Tom had a disabled, shortened foot and used a “special” shoe for kicking. Those three men who wore now-retired 63 jerseys in the NFL were all great players I had the pleasure of watching play. And speaking of play, I hope your birthday is full of all “play” and no “work!”

    • Bruce,
I had forgotten that Dempsey’s kick was against the Lions, but how can we forget his foot. Nonetheless, quite the feat, and to think he kicked straight on! (I think)

I’ve done this posts for my birthday in the past. Sometimes I didn’t include the picture, and simply embedded a note about my birthday somewhere in the post. Oh how evil of me … .and yes … I still have the shoes, so hopefully I can find them and include them in a pic soon.

Many thanks for the birthday wishes, and I encourage you to visit the pingback from Vanessa lower in the comments.

Reading the comments on my birthday morning is a good way to start the day … and many thanks for yours. The day will probably include a glass (or more) of red – but I don’t see dance on the schedule for the day. Guess I’ll have to work it in. I encourage you to visit the pingback from Vanessa further down the comments. What a hoot!

Oh wow … Commonality via Axel is quite the treat! 🙂 Sad to say, Graeter’s wasn’t on my itinerary for the day … but it is now! I have lactaid in the car, and I’ll should be driving right by it this afternoon!!!! … Did I tell you that a Graeter’s opened in my town this past December? In the summer, a 40 minute walk for the pre-calorie burn … then the return post-calorie burn.

I want you to know that my birthday coinciding with you working your way back into a blogging routine is quite the present. Many thanks!!! … Meanwhile, I hope you visit the pingback from Vanessa.

      • You must be in your bliss with your very own Graeter’s in Frankville, Frank! How convenient! I keep lactaid pills in my medicine cabinet, kitchen cupboard, wallet and maybe I should have a few sewn into my skin? I did watch Vanessa’s video. What a hoot! Thanks for the referral. I tried to give it a like but couldn’t from my phone. I’ll try again when I’m on a computer later. Have a wonderful day and a terrific next year.

  5. Happy Birthday dear Frank. 🙂 I loved your baby photograph, and you still have those shoes… how great, your mother kept them and then you! “63” in my own language “altmışüç (altmış=60, üç=three)…. once upon a time there was a cinema in here, where I live, its name was “63”… and today instead of this cinema there is a kepap restaurant 🙂 Thank you dear Frank, I with you happy celebration with your family. 6. 63 points in one game? Wowsa. My husband and I were Michael Jordan fans when we were poor college students and nowhere near a pro-sports team. Now that we can go see the Cavs play, I wish Jordan were still playing. Would be a treat to see. Then again, we get to see LeBron. 🙂

    Such a cute baby picture!!

  9. Thank you for The Federalist Papers – No. 63.

To the People of the State of New York:

A FIFTH desideratum, illustrating the utility of a senate, is the want of a due sense of national character. Without a select and stable member of the government, the esteem of foreign powers will not only be forfeited by an unenlightened and variable policy, proceeding from the causes already mentioned, but the national councils will not possess that sensibility to the opinion of the world, which is perhaps not less necessary in order to merit, than it is to obtain, its respect and confidence. Etc.

I’m glad my long-time blogger friend was able to stop by on my day. Simply wonderful! In terms of the factoids in this post, I happen to like both the gathering and weeding out aspect of the factoids. Pure trivia, thus most of the stuff wouldn’t be helpful to answer Alex Trebeck. Cheers to your upcoming birthday as you also share that month with The Right Angle.
