What a pleasant surprise. How’s everything in the UK? … and Happy New Year to you as well … Wishing you the best in 2017!

Thank you! I am looking forward to the new year 🙂 Everything in the UK is as it should be. People are still flashing their Christmas decorations and grumbling about the weather good naturally 🙂

Now that’s funny, even though I haven’t visited the UK … Yet (as I hope to someday). … so when I finally make it, I will hope for good weather. 😉

Well in that case, I hope that when you eventually do, it will be wonderful weather. England is a beautiful beautiful country, and in my opinion its true beauty can only be experienced in good weather 🙂

That is a good way of describing it. I see the UK as several trips … one to the tourist areas, and then one to the countryside … but time will tell when they happen.
You are up late – any celebratory plans?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That is actually a very good idea! I think you might enjoy the countryside areas the best 🙂 But that is just my opinion. No plans at all, just a tonne of university work to wade through! Have you any celebratory plans?

Being that my wife and I enjoy ballroom dancing, we will be in that crowd tomorrow … a nice and fun group … but not rowdy. 😉 …. In that light, someday we hope to dance in the great ballroom hall at Blackpool during their afternoon tea.

Well that sounds lovely! I hope you both have a fabulous time, ballroom dancing sounds fabulous. And here is to your dreams of dancing at Blackpool coming true 🙂

One of the best things about taking up ballroom dance has been meeting and getting to know many very nice people. Can’t have enough good people in life! .. Meanwhile, cheers to hoping Blackpool works out for us. Have you been there?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No that you certainly can’t. I am thinking of taking up some kind of dancing at some point. I love watching it. Blackpool is different. I have been there and we had a great time at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which is a theme park right on the beach. We didn’t get to ride on the fastest rollercoaster in Britain though because of (surprise surprise) the bad weather! But Blackpool in general is a great place to visit!

I know that Blackpool is very much a resort with a rides, beaches, and probably it’s share of carnival – but the ballroom is what will get us there – even if it only for a short time. At least it will be indoors! Thanks for the scoop. … How could I forget that I did a post about it. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2015/08/23/on-a-spot-for-the-bucket/

You know, I didn’t know about Blackpool’s famous ballroom until you informed me about it, and I read your blogpost. I am hoping 2017 brings you ever closer to this dream! Huh, to think I went to Blackpool as part of a two week road trip this year and had no idea it was more than just amusement and entertainment!

Wow … how cool is that I taught you something about the place. 😉

I know! I will forever see Blackpool in a new light now because of you, because, honesty hour here, I wasn’t overly impressed when I did go (it was nice, just not too impressive) 🙂

Happy New Year! I was expecting to like the quirky bottle band best, but the bagpipe was such a delightful surprise! If we all get involved in our communities and do small things with great love–ala Mother Teresa–then we can help make 2017 a good year.

Thanks, Frank. We have a decades-long tradition of Chinese food with friends. Everyone will probably leave well before midnight, and then my husband and I may or may not make it till midnight. 🙂 Hope you and Ms. Angle have a wonderful New Year’s Eve!

Merril,
Cheers to your tradition of food and friends. Making it to midnight is one thing, but fun and joy with friends is at a higher level. Cheers!!! … and Happy New Year!

Hello Frank, Happy New Year, from the land where 2017 is less than 8 1/2 hours away. In my wee corner of this land where it’s the middle of summer, the temperature has just dropped alarmingly, the wind has risen and the rain set in ………… I guess it will be a quiet night on the streets tonight! Surprisingly I quite liked Andre’s offering (who couldn’t love a woman puffing air into the pipes dressed in a frothy blue meringue?) but I loved the bottles and the acapella group.

Pauline,
Cheers to you as you approach the 2016-t2017 transition. After all, I posted this early enough for the Kiwis and the Aussies! Thanks for proving my efforts. 🙂
Whereas you are in summer, we had a few bursts of snow overnight and this morning, but temps are going to be above freezing the next few days.
Thanks for watching all three videos – and hey – the pipes are getting a good reaction here. Happy New Year to you … party on with the two party animals.

The bottle band was a hoot… and they are all so serious (well, save one but he basically gets the “fart” job…) however, I am partial to bagpipes… and played by a woman to boot! Lovely!
Happy, happy new year to you and Mrs. Right Angle! xoxo

Seems others also have a soft spot for the lady playing the pipes. Guess I should make finding more videos of ladies playing bagpipes a resolution for 2017! Happy New Year to you … Enjoy the evening.
