It’s challenge time!
Long-time visitors to my little corner of the world know that writing fiction isn’t my thing. With over 1,900 posts, I’ve written one fiction post. Actually two because the original post did turn into a short story challenge that involved me changing my original story.
Not that I’m changing my format in on these pages, but what the heck – let’s try it again!
1. Write a short story based on the image below in the genre of your choice.
2. The story must be 150 words or less.
3. Publish your story after I post mine (Monday, July 10th @ 12:15 am Eastern US) AND link back to the post with my story (not this post).
4. Display the image above your story
5. The story title must be Footprints in the Sand
6. Display the following image after the story.
Since I write fiction and since I love prompts and since you are a good guy, I accept the challenge.

A fellow blogger (and one who is dear to me) has issued this challenge. Of course, I cannot but help myself and will definitely participate. How about you joining in? We have until July 10th to come up with 150 words… easy-peasy, right?

Terrific! I’d love to join in. 😆

Perhaps from my site, where he regularly views my 100-word Flash Fictions….when I’m able to compose and post one. I’ll look up Erato’s contact information, to see if she’ll give me a bit of help to produce something for you. 😉

Well good on you Frank! And good luck with it. I won’t join in as I am not a writer and all my spare time is spent reading blogs, composing my own posts or painting 🙂 I know you understand. But I shall most definitely be here reading the stories of those who do take part. 🙂

Oh my what a surprise! Great hearing from you … and the hello is worth more than participating in the challenge. School going well? … Safe travels … to where?

Hey.
Hahaha. You are always so kind! And welcoming. 🙂
School is going well. Last year so trying to get in some vacation time before “work life” hits. And to Chicago, visiting my brother in the states.
How are you? How is everything at your end?

I remember you coming to the states for family. Cheers to school going well.
Life is well at this end. Enjoying summer, working part-time, and still ballroom dancing.

Glad to hear that you are doing well!! How is work treating you though?

I’m retired, but work part-time at a golf course … I like it … but like anything, there are plusses and minuses. Enjoy Chicago … such a great city!

That’s so true. Everything, even the good stuff, comes with its own negatives.
And…thank you. I’m loving it so far.

Isadora,
I know what you mean about accepting challenges … and I think this is the 3rd one that I’ve ever issued. (Not bad considering approaching 9 years.) … Enjoy the challenge and feel free to tell others!

Although I’m strictly a short story consumer I’m anxious to see what your readers come up with. And by the way, my wife and I both liked your previous short story!

Tim,
Consumers are welcome! It will be interesting to see how many participate. Nonetheless, I anticipate a wide-range of stories for the two of you to enjoy.

When I comment on your story, do I link to my story? OR how do people get to read the stories they want to? Have I missed something?

Resa,
I would suggest the following. Have an intro before the story where you mention the challenge. Invite readers to read my story (link to me post) and that they can read other stories in the pingbacks in the comments. I will also be mentioning the pingbacks.

You’re really stepping up with this idea. Sounds like great marching orders.
Will paw prints work? (Already got Monday’ post poised to go before catgut up with your challenge, but will have to keep closer tabs on you.)
Can’t wait to see what all wanders up with everyone

Mouse,
I got some good publicity on this one with re-blogs … so it will be interesting to see how successful this challenge will be. Meanwhile, it would be great if you joined in … but hey … understandable if it doesn’t work out.

If you want to give it a go, it’s up to you. After all, the page is still open, so is the challenge. Then again, please don’t feel obligated. Good to see you back on the prowl.
