On BLINK with Ruthven

John Ruthven is an American artist known for painting wildlife in the style of James Audubon. Awarded a National Medal of Arts in 2004 and an area resident, ArtWorks honored him by featuring one of his paintings as a mural (Seen below). I also posted about this mural – Martha: The Last Passenger Pigeon.

For BLINK, Foster & Flux (a local animation studio) transformed the mural into a vivid and beautiful story. Enjoy the video showing For the Birds.

  1. Another lovely AFA post about the murals in Cincinnati. Keep them coming for me to recognize when I walk around town. Also thanks for your previous post “Martha: The Last Passenger Pigeon” which led me to watch a Youtube video preview of the devastating 2014 documentary “From Billions to None: The Passenger Pigeon’s Flight to Extinction” by David Mrazek and Joel Greenberg.

  2. I am flabbergasted by the beauty BLINK produces. I would love to see BLINK in Toronto, but we may not have the murals. For sure we have the multitude of Street Art, but murals are a different creature. Winnipeg is ripe and ready for BLINK. OMG, it’s all about murals in Winnipeg.
    Fab post, Frank.
