Cheers – the day has finally arrived – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will induct the Moody Blues this Saturday!
Did you watch the special musical event honoring Elton John? I enjoyed it!
Readers provide very interesting comments on the previous post about Lead and Follow. Thanks for the surprises!
It appears my invitation to the Royal Wedding got lost in the mail.
After playing for Easter services, no rest for the handbell choir as we are back playing at a service two weeks later. Here’s the next song on our agenda: Enjoy Song of Celebration (Arnold Sherman).
Need a laugh? This is a good read from a fellow blogger who occasionally visits my little corner of the world.

I appreciate this comment by former Secretary of State Madeline Albright: “We should be awake to the assault on democratic values that has gathered strength in many countries abroad and that is dividing America at home.”
Count me in as one who thinks the latest use of chemical weapons in Syria was by the rebels who don’t want the US military to leave.
Interesting announcement by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WS) about leaving Congress at the end of his term this year. I noticed something important in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in his comments about Speaker Ryan. … his speakership has yielded one significant accomplishment after another for his conference, his constituents in Wisconsin, as well as the American people.” Yes, I’m one who notices the order. Nonetheless, best wishes to Speaker Ryan for a positive future as he earn millions.
Congressional Republicans amuse me by pushing for a Balanced Budget Amendment after voting for the tax cut and a spending bill that increases the deficit and debt. What a hoot!

To send you into induction weekend, here’s another Moody Blues classic. In the words of Garrison Keillor, Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.
About dang time for the Moody Blues!
And as far as Speaker Ryan goes, his ‘family time’ will yield bucco dollar signs. And may he and his peeps keep in mind all those many Americans who can’t do their business at home with the same results.

Marc,
No mistake about, Speaker Ryan is in line for big bucks … and if he can balance that with family time, I wish him the best. Meanwhile, his peeps will continue the party-first mantra.

Love the Moody Blues and Elton Frank 🙂 My own invite didn’t arrive either Frank So don’t be too disappointed .. 🙂 And yes lots of twists and turns in regard to the latest crisis in Syria.. I wonder who recognises Truth anymore? as your apt sheep image shows many just follow the herd. And Bleat their bleat. While innocents keep on suffering..
Loved the first image… 🙂
Have a great weekend Frank

Sue,
Cheers to SIr Elton and the Moody Blues in the same post is a good thing! The TV show was very enjoyable. Will probably watch it again because my wife didn’t see it.
As we now know, our two countries (plus France) executed bombings in Syria. What a mess on many levels. Keep the faith with goodness and hope.
Glad you enjoyed the first image. I wonder who they go the animals to do that!

Yes reminds me of another poem I wrote when the war broke out in the then Yugoslavian War. The last time you viewed this poem was in 2014. 🙂
Wishing you a Peaceful Sunday Frank.

I didn’t see the Elton John special, and I also didn’t receive an invitation–but that will save me from buying a new outfit or two. 😉
I’m wondering how many people will leave office or the administration this week?
I’m behind on both posts and work, so I’m stopping to read other articles, but I had read the Molly Ringwald piece earlier in the week, and it actually came up in a family dinner discussion when my niece wondered about showing some of those movies to her daughter.

Merril,
The administration has quite the revolving door. Probably the best and greatest door in presidential history! The fact that you had already read the Ringwald article and it came up in a family discussion confirms my decision to include it here. Thanks!!!

I’m sorry you didn’t get an invite to the wedding, Frank. Look at it this way. The thousands you saved on the gift will console you. Afterall if you didn’t go over the top on gift impressiveness it (the gift) would end up at a charity resale shop with a dignified note thanking you for your donation. Enjoyed the pizza post. Started following. The thug in charge in Syria is a known murderer. Who can say what is going on there. Enjoyed the post and congrats to the Moody Blues and you for the Moody Blue PR.

John,
An idea … a post listing 10 things about not getting invited to the royal wedding!
Meanwhile, even though the Syrian leader is a thug and has used chemical weapons before, I still wonder if the rebels didn’t do it for the sake of keeping the US involved. If so, so far it worked. Meanwhile, glad you enjoyed this run of Moody Blues songs … make to other songs next week. … well, maybe.

I read Curmudgeon’s post last week too. Very funny. As for Speaker Ryan, I think he’s got something up his sleeve. Maybe he wants to get out of the Trump era for a bit to avoid being further tainted. Then, when the coast is clear, he’ll jump back in the ring.

Carrie,
Mudge’a article is a hoot, so thanks for confirming that. Hopefully others will read it. Regarding Speaker Ryan’s decision, “family” is an easy out – so I am interested to see what his future holds. Time will tell.

AFA, thanks for the call out (although GOOGLE is not amused).

I did like “Enjoy Song of Celebration” by Arnold Sherman, especially his placing of the tutti accents. Thanks for keeping me abreast of the latest music literature for handbell choirs.

’bout time for the Moody Blues, I must agree…
That Pizza story – I remember reading a version of it a while ago… so worth the re-read and so funny!
Sooo… you gonna play with Karen, Marc and me? 😉

Dale,
Oh yes … the pizza story is a good one. I didn’t realize there are other versions out there.
Playing with the words? Well … it’s a matter of timing. After all, it has to be a spontaneous generation and I have to be available at the time. The second unknown is (if done) where would I post it.

We’ve been out of town, Frank, so I’m behind a bit in following the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but typically it’s televised on HBO. I hope I can catch a viewing! Paul Ryan is just beyond the pale in his weakness. But I won’t get started on that! LOL! If he could take his good friend, Mitch, with him, I’d be even happier, but I know better than to hold my breath. I’ll stay with the music! It doesn’t disappoint. 🙂

Debra,
Because Cincinnati borders Kentucky, we get our share of McConnell news. Oh my – and every 6 years the campaign ads! But if I had my choice of Ryan or McConnell, I’ll take Ryan. Meanwhile, cheers to the Moody Blues for their long-awaited induction!
