She’s the one for the next dance.
She displays a slight smile as I approach.
She changes her face into a glow as I extend my hand.
She graciously engages my offered frame.
She transforms my leads into beautiful motions.
She glides the floor with grace and elegance.
She makes me feel like the king of the ballroom.
She smiles in appreciation as the music ends.
She is the one.
Note: This post serves as the basis for the She/He Challenge. Click the here or the Challenge Page/Tab below the header/banner for more information. FYI: Unrelated to this challenge, see the SPECIAL Page/Tab for an important announcement.
This is beautiful!

Holly,
Thanks. Big oops on my part as I clicked the Publish instead of Save. But this was going up anyway. Hope you see that I’ve turned this into a writing challenge. Please tell the bloggers you know that like writing challenges.

Resa,
Thanks. The door of possibilities is wide open … actually more open than many may realize. Pass the challenge along to others you know who may enjoy it.

So nicely written Frank! Please excuse me for not joining in – it would take me hours to come up with anything at all 🙂

Pauline,
No problem – but tell anyone else you think may be interested. I’m curious to see the different directions writers take it … well, assuming I get anyone to join in. 😉 … One never knows. At least this one is a bit different.

Oh my … this is interesting. I love a challenge. Just making sure of the details:
Am I to post on the 13th of November?
I create a post on my blog and add your story?
I’ll do my best to join the fun. 👍

Isadora,
Great … I look forward to your contribution. Post your version AFTER I post mine so you can link to mine. I will post on the 13th at 9 PM your time. So you may post that night (after 9), the next day, or after that. Does that help?
It is an interesting challenge, and I have a surprise up my sleeve for my version.

Ah, what a lovely challenge, Frank! I’ll try but can’t promise anything as I’ve just returned and I’m still on a very heavy schedule workwise. Also, I want to catch up with your musical… Missed so much!!!! Yamas! 🍷

Marina,
I thought about letting you know about the musical, but I knew you were busy – so I wanted to respect that. However, hope you read the SPECIAL page/tab about what is coming. No problem being busy for the challenge.

I have and I already added to the “IT” challenge! As I’ve just come out of hibernation …so to speak, just checking: is the next challenge any two or more pronouns?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes … Song titles with two or more pronouns – but a) the two pronouns must be different, b) the pronouns must be from the 12 in the musical
Meanwhile, I’ve seen your comment on IT, but haven’t listen to the songs yet.

Loved your poetic Dance dear Frank.. We are in the season here in the UK for Strictly Dancing again 🙂 And with a seven year old Granddaughter who has also been doing Ballroom and Latin since she was nearly three.. We all get swept up in the waltz and music… Sending love your way, I cannot promise to join the challenge but so enjoyed your muse my friend. 🙂

Sue,
Your Strictly Dancing and our Dancing With The Stars seem to run parallel. Fabulous shows from the BBC! I remember that your granddaughter dances, and glad to hear she’s is stilling doing that! No problem on the challenge, but please pass it along to others that you think may be interested.

I’m not sure that I will join in, Frank. I’m really busy now and through the weekend. But we’ll see.

Mouse,
Thank you … but wait until you see my response to my own challenge. 😉

Okay, you call it a challenge… and I feel somewhat so.
SO:
Do I need to copy – “She’s the one for the next dance.
put my words here, then
“She displays a slight smile as I approach.”
put my words.
Do my lines need to follow & feed into your lines?
This would be a combo prose.
OR do i write a prose:
He…
He…
He..
Which feeds into your prose, but is still its own work?

Final product will be
She … (my line)
He … (your line)
She … (my line)
He … (your line) …. etc.
Does that help?

Okay.
I was thrown off by the words: I, my & me in the “She lines”
It makes it more of a challenge, which is good.
I can handle it!
LikeLiked by 1 person
That a way. Think of it this way … the lines are thoughts about the other that are not said. His thoughts about her (She) … her about him (He).
