On a Weekend Concert with the Ex-Beatles

The Producer’s Guidelines

  1. Only songs by solo ex-Beatles outside the Beatles
  2. Songs by the Beatles are unacceptable – even if done as a soloist
  3. No duplicate songs
  4. Include the song title in your introduction text so others can see it
  5. To prevent browsers crashing from loading too many videos, please paste the URL as part of your last line (not a new line) – (I don’t mind unembedding, so apologies are not necessary)

Letโ€™s start with what I think is the first #1 song by an ex-Beatle: My Sweet Lord (George Harrison)

Next Concert: Moody Blues

Past Concerts: Beatles

  1. Good morning.
Okay I didn’t think I’d manage to get this one in before anyone else but I am choosing Imagine https://youtu.be/YkgkThdzX-8

Feeling quite chuffed that I got here with that before anyone else, because honestly I would have had to choose Wonderful Christmas Time otherwise!
What a gorgeous song this is though, don’t you think. Timeless. And in my teaching days I led a small choir singing this along with other world peace type songs (Heal the World, We Are The World and Give peace a chance…Wait is that also Lennon??? Anyway…)
This song always gets me teary.
    So beautiful.
    Have a great day! โ™กโ™กโ™ก

  2. Yes, Frank. I ate lots of pie, drank lots of wine, and watched a band jam downstairs until wee hours. All in all, more fun than one guy aught to be allowed to have in one night!
Note to The Producer: I had to answer this in a new comment box, as there was no reply prompt under the question.

  3. Wow, I was going to suggest Imagine, but that one was picked early. Such timeless music to say the least. Iโ€™ve read many of the comments here that bring back even more memories and laughs.

Frank, I hope youโ€™re well. I still keep up with many of your entries, especially the ones of your recent travels to Europe. I was there myself for a couple of weeks last summer for the second time.

    Happy belated 2019 to you!
