  1. Good morning! How brilliant are the Eagles. Such a good choice for a concert, Frank.
My song submission is Peaceful Easy Feeling https://youtu.be/byZn1KBzdeI. I love this song. I didn’t know it until around 6 years ago when the guitarist I was singing with wanted to sing it as a duet. Then I fell in love it. The lyrics are gorgeous and the melody is so dreamy. We used to sing it with really tight harmonies so it sounded…amazing.
    Enjoy!
    Fiery😉
(Didn’t go for the obvious choice, feel like I’m getting good at this!)

  2. Hmmm…..the obvious choice. Well, what can I say. The obvious choice was one of the greatest driving songs ever written in the history of mankind (along with “I Can’t Drive 55”). Please note: I purposely said the history of mankind. For during their prehistoric times, The Neanderthals were known to be some pretty amazing headbangers themselves. I mean who could forget “I Wanna Hold Your Flint Rock” or their famous “When Wolly Mammoths Cry.” And what more can you say about a song that sounds like a warning label to my daughter’s mama bedroom……you can check out…….BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE. (Queue in sinister laughing). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P526n6wfP4

Enough about them. Back to The Eagles. Difficult to pick the right song. Head scratching here. Perhaps if I think about a special lady, something will come to me……..Every night, I’m lying in bed. Holding you close in my dreams……Naw, nothing comes to me.

My selection for this week is a wonderful Eagles song
“The Best of My Love.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ9J6wX5WLQ. Man, has anyone ever lied in bed and not think of this song? Doubtful. They probably have cold blood runing through them (kind of like lawyers and sharks).

  3. Frank,

The Eagles are the classic rock version of Hank Aaron. You don’t realize how prolific and great a band they are until you stretch their work out over a long span of time. That’s when you go Holy Henley! Or Great Glen! After which you fire em up on Spotify and spend the morning going back in time.

I went with one of my all time faves . . admittedly with the Eagles, it’s a long list. “I Can’t Tell You Why”. It’s got that classic rock mellow with an R&B smoothness to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCa9oLo65fk

  4. Trent,
Correct – although I’ve been a fan back to the James Gang days – no Joe Walsh. His songs are distinctly different than the big 3. Besides – Walsh would open the door to Vince Gill, more havoc that could take away from the headliners. Maybe I’ll pair Walsh and Gill in the future. 🙂 … But hey – both were big enough on their own!

Hotel California is such a great song – possibly their biggest hit. Still remember one of my favorite versions when I heard a one-man band play it when in St. Augustine. I was stunned!

  5. Hi Frank! The Eagles have so many choices, but I’m gonna go with Don Henley’s Dirty Laundry(I got the live version linked on this): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrkvS8DsEAA

I think that song perfectly illustrates the kind of generation it was when the song was originally released and how it continues to escalate in our society. While I’m not anywhere close to that type of person, when you work in media, it’s impossible to ignore the “dirty laundry” that is thrown out as often as it is.

The Eagles have so many choices and classic hits!

  6. Here’s a suggestion from the nutty Brexit side of the pond: Take it Easy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeNhwnO8hw

The Eagles are one of my favourite bands and this is one of my favourite songs. I have very fond memories of an open air concert (1974?) in the Oakland Coliseum with the Eagles and Elton John, what a great day that was! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeNhwnO8hw&amp
