Good morning! How brilliant are the Eagles. Such a good choice for a concert, Frank.
My song submission is Peaceful Easy Feeling https://youtu.be/byZn1KBzdeI. I love this song. I didn’t know it until around 6 years ago when the guitarist I was singing with wanted to sing it as a duet. Then I fell in love it. The lyrics are gorgeous and the melody is so dreamy. We used to sing it with really tight harmonies so it sounded…amazing.
Enjoy!
Fiery😉

Fiery,
Not only a wonderful song, but I like the fact that you had a story behind your choice. Thanks for sharing … and yes, a good song for a duet. Interesting that you sang with a band – so that means you probably don’t have many stories to tell about people.

Thanks so glad you approved of my choice!
Actually I sang that when I was in a duo, just me and a guitarist.
I did sing in a band, years before that. Mostly Greek music. I definitely have stories to tell! !!

Hmmm…..the obvious choice. Well, what can I say. The obvious choice was one of the greatest driving songs ever written in the history of mankind (along with “I Can’t Drive 55”). Please note: I purposely said the history of mankind. For during their prehistoric times, The Neanderthals were known to be some pretty amazing headbangers themselves. I mean who could forget “I Wanna Hold Your Flint Rock” or their famous “When Wolly Mammoths Cry.” And what more can you say about a song that sounds like a warning label to my daughter’s mama bedroom……you can check out…….BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE. (Queue in sinister laughing). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P526n6wfP4
Enough about them. Back to The Eagles. Difficult to pick the right song. Head scratching here. Perhaps if I think about a special lady, something will come to me……..Every night, I’m lying in bed. Holding you close in my dreams……Naw, nothing comes to me.
My selection for this week is a wonderful Eagles song
“The Best of My Love.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ9J6wX5WLQ. Man, has anyone ever lied in bed and not think of this song? Doubtful. They probably have cold blood runing through them (kind of like lawyers and sharks).

Desperado is a big song – and the Eagles even bigger. Many ballads that fit your style. 🙂 Glad you didn’t the Linda Ronstadt version because The Producer would have done his thing – although the lady could sing in there day! … so keep that song in mind if she performs here. Interestingly though, before forming the Eagles, I believe several band members where part of her band.

Frank,
The Eagles are the classic rock version of Hank Aaron. You don’t realize how prolific and great a band they are until you stretch their work out over a long span of time. That’s when you go Holy Henley! Or Great Glen! After which you fire em up on Spotify and spend the morning going back in time.
I went with one of my all time faves . . admittedly with the Eagles, it’s a long list. “I Can’t Tell You Why”. It’s got that classic rock mellow with an R&B smoothness to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCa9oLo65fk

Great song! and no kidding … many hits, plus worthy Kennedy Center Honorees! Footnote: They actually declined the honoree because Frey was deathly ill. Well, postponing their acceptance for a year – and the Kennedy Center folks honored their request.
Speaking of Hank Aaron, he turned 85 earlier this week.

I can’t believe Frey has been gone for two years now. What a loss. I mean, we lost Prince, Frey and Bowie inside the same time span. That’s a huge void.

Correct – although I’ve been a fan back to the James Gang days – no Joe Walsh. His songs are distinctly different than the big 3. Besides – Walsh would open the door to Vince Gill, more havoc that could take away from the headliners. Maybe I’ll pair Walsh and Gill in the future. … But hey – both were big enough on their own!
Hotel California is such a great song – possibly their biggest hit. Still remember one of my favorite versions when I heard a one-man band play it when in St. Augustine. I was stunned!

I was half joking with Joe Walsh (I’ll admit that I love that silly synth sound on Life’s Been Good!), but if I had more time I’d look up some of the Don Henley since, though The Eagles were a huge part of the soundtrack of the 70s, I know his music from the 80s a little better.
