For the final post in this series, here’s a potpourri of images.
Look closely for the street performer.
Trdelniks are abundant in Prague. These hollow, toasted pastries can be lined with various creams, filled with fruits and whipped cream, and even stuffed with mac n cheese.
Do you remember Fred and Ginger?
Nothing like a collection of torture devices to get one’s attention
I recall many readers enjoyed the Ljubljana Dragon.
One never knows what one can see in the windows …
…. or out a hotel window in Krakow …
…. even through the front window of the bus.
This is the last of the series about our travels to Eastern Europe with a Rick Steves tour. Not only was the tour company outstanding, this region of the world is definitely worth the visit. For more about this trip, click here for a collection of all the posts. Below the tour map is a beautiful song that is special to the Czech people.
That was a great set of tour posts Frank, with so many beautiful images – I remember having so much difficulty believing that moon mural was a painting 🙂

Pauline,
It was a fun tour – and I enjoyed posting about it. Now about that moon. It’s a picture – not a painting. I took “Two Moons Over Krakow” picture from our hotel room. I remember looking out the window, then rushing to get the camera.

Thanks for clarifying my memory Frank – it was a great shot for sure!!

Glad you enjoyed these. I posted about each of the stops, then showed other pictures in the tidbits series. A few of the images on this post I may have already used. Here is the link to the collection of posts about this trip. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/category/travel/eastern-europe/

El,
Welcome first-time commenter. This trip was our first to this part of Europe – and we loved it! For me, Krakow was the most pleasant surprise. Here’s my post about it. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2018/12/02/on-krakow-poland/ … the rest of the journey collection is here. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/category/travel/eastern-europe/ …. Feel free to return!

My wife and I agree that Trdelniks will be a part of our next trip to visit the relatives.

Tim,
My wife and I were telling someone last night about these treats. Interestingly, we only saw them in Prague.

Instruments of torture give me the willies! Why do people do such things to one another. The rest of the photos are lovely.

Eilene,
Seems there are numerous torture museums throughout Europe. Also saw some in our recent trip to Central America. But yes – getting the willies is understandable.

Cincy,
Those buildings appear as if they’re imploding, that’s wild. Like something out of a Dali painting.
Trdelniks look tasty. And they’re extremely versatile, I dig that.
Lovely tour on the last go round for this adventure!

Marc,
Now that’s an interesting way to think about the Dancing Towers. It was a long walk to and them, but we enjoyed the stroll. Agree – the Trdelniks are versatile – and if I ever return to Prague, I won’t holdout for the mac n cheese one.

Ya think so? I tend to hone in with my artistic eye when it comes to that stuff.
Goodness, you better not hold out! That sounds divine.

The Mac n Cheese one looked wonderful – but I can’t recall why they didn’t have it at the time.
Stat correction: Blues playoff record, 9-3 away … 6-6 at home.

It sounds heavenly.
6-7 now. St Louis came up so small in that game last night. I dozed off when it was 2-0 because it felt as if it was 10-0. Woke up at the horn to 5-1. All we can hope is that St Louis has their road mojo going big time. They will need every bit of it to have a chance.

For me, the first two periods were entertaining. Tuukka Rask was huge!

But the offense, ugh!

And the name … Tuukka Rask … definitely a name for a goalie.

Yeah, that name fits a goalie perfectly. If you tell me that name and say he plays a sport . . I say goalie!

Sue,
From the old to the new, we greatly enjoy European architecture. It’s a history lesson in itself. Meanwhile, if you get to Prague, try those creamy treats – and the gingerbreads where on castle hill!

Yep. The boys have done their rooms and will do what I ask them when I ask them. The rest, they are not really sure where I want stuff.
And my working 9-12 hour days is not helping this go faster. Of course, technically, instead of blogging and exchanging comments and trying to read a few posts, I could be doing stuff. But I finished at 11:30 last night so by the time I wound down and went to bed, it was close to 1. Needless to say, I am not particularly energetic yet.
Am working at 4 and need to run some errands to boot! Eesh. Never ending.

Didn’t get the history … simply an exhibit in the castle area. They definitely had interesting ideas at that time!

What a memorable trip you took, Frank. I am sure I am repeating myself, but my son visited Prague a few years ago and was so enthralled. I looked at hundreds of photos with him to back up his claim. LOL! All very beautiful, but I’m most “envious” of the history you encountered. I’ve enjoyed what you have shared with us. Thank you for the nice re-cap!
