The carousel is so interesting. Because each piece expresses a part of the city, each was hand crafted.

Cheers to your love and appreciation of Kenner! For me, the Carew Tower is one of two of my favorite art deco sites in the city. (The other is the old Union Terminal which is now a museum). The “horses” on the carousel where handmade so each could represent a part of the city. Thanks for walking along!

Liked the visit back to my old stomping grounds. The Union Terminal building is one of my favorite stops when I’m in the area. Do they still do big fireworks displays on the river?

OH yes … the Labor Day fireworks are bigger and better than ever. Huge crowds. Meanwhile, agree, Union Terminal is a wonderful place. We hope to visit next week before the holiday rush.

Thanks for sharing your favs. Carew Tower is one of the two best places for art deco here … but not the only. I too like that style. Search Google Images for “Cincinnati Union Terminal interior” ….. As for the night pic, we were with a group at a rooftop bar when I captured that view.

Love that carousel! Such a diverse and quirky bunch of animals. That praying mantis is quite unusual on the merry-go-round circuit, I venture. Thanks for sharing that cool video.

Glad you enjoyed the merry-go-round. The Cincinnati Zoo has a large insect world, so I imagine that’s a reason why the praying mantis made it. I wonder if a cicada is one it! One of the animals is a bearcat, mascot of the Univ. of Cinci.

Nope. Airport to P&G headquarters and then back. Didn’t even get a chance to stop in Frankfert KY for some ribs at Walt’s rib shack.

It does. There is a lesson in that situation. One should slow down and look around instead of rushing to the next city. My worst case was one time flying to Zurich, having a meeting at the airport and flying back. Should have at least had a cup of hot chocolate.

These types of riverboats were very prominent in the 1800s. Years ago we had a festival here where many in this style came from other cities. Wonderful!

SO many places to see and experience, Frank, and it seems you are one very fortunate person who has been blessed to be able to travel. Loved learning about Cincinnati and was impressed to see that baseball stadium so full. Even if the last World Series was in 1976, the people are still loyal. Here in Buffalo when there is a baseball game going on, our stadium is sadly empty. Beautiful architecture in the buildings and the Art Deco. Awesome!! As for the characters, I’d love to help out but ….. time is a severe dictator. (smile) Thank your this post!! Loved it!! xo

To me, cities have so much to offer – even the small cities I’m fortunate to have Cincinnati to call home during my adult years.
