On a Lindy Monday

The weekend is over – but that’s not sad because there are days ahead leading to another weekend – and for we in the USA, next weekend has an extra day. How was your weekend? What did you do?

Ours included two nights of ballroom, errands, dinner with my father-in-law, dinner with friends, work, (while my wife attended a neighborhood car show).

Act 4 of Meals: The Musical provided bacon, barbecue, beef, burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken, chicken wings, hot dogs, meat, meatballs, pork, pork chops, ribs, steak, t-bone, and turkey while including sides as beans, carrots, mustard greens, and potatoes. Meanwhile, I’m researching the next act’s theme.

On June’s First Monday

Another weekend leads to another Monday … so how was your weekend?

Mine was a blend of activity and some work around the new residence, but the active side included time in the ballroom, a neighborhood golf outing, and going out to dinner. My wife also volunteered at a local art show that attracts many regional artists … Summerfair is a great event – especially when the weather cooperates.

This weekend also welcomed a new month. For those who missed it, this recent post informs you of June’s month-long celebrations.

A trip to the beach is a common summer vacation, so on your next trip to the sandy shores, keep this scene from Mr. Bean in mind. For many of my southern hemisphere readers, think of your beach times from the summer. Have a good week!

On a Monday Salute

It’s a three-day holiday week for we Americans, so how did you spend your weekend?

I imagine you’ll be surprised to see that we had a wide variety of activities that included ballroom dance, a local festival, among the hoards of people at the Taste of Cincinnati, a Reds baseball game (we lost), a cookout with neighbors, and some decorating planning time … and we still have one day to go! Other than hosting my father-in-law in the afternoon for a simple meal, we are hoping for a low-key day.

Celebrations for your week

  • (Week) Week of Solidarity with the People of Non-Self-Governing Territories, Hurricane Preparedness Week, Shoe Week, Pickle Week, Safe Boating Week, Good Stewardship Week, Frozen Yogurt Week, American Beer Week

Given the Memorial Day holiday, this Monday Morning Entertainment focuses on the armed forces instead of humor. Many communities will celebrate Memorial Day with a parade and a remembrance event for fallen soldiers. Although this is a USA holiday, I know this blog is read in countries that also remember their warriors. Even though our Memorial Days may not be on the same day, this post is also for you. Have a good week!

On a Froggy Monday

Hopefully your weekend was a good one. So what did you do?

We had one of those full weekends. My sister-in-law and niece visiting meant no ballroom time for us … but we stayed busy. We hosted the family Friday afternoon and evening. All five us on Saturday afternoon went to a painting outing at a business called Painting with a Twist. Oh what fun! I’m not a painter or at all artistic, but Marina wants to transform my work into t-shirts, pillows, posters, and more.

I started with a blank canvas and the process did not involve tracing

After the painting session, we went to my father-in-law’s for pizza. From there, we went to a church wine tasting for wine and fellowship … and it was a wonderful event!

Sunday afternoon we attended a car show in our neighborhood that one of our new neighbors organized.
