I’m not sure. The last I heard it was about 13 inches, but that was a couple of hours ago. It’s really blowing about. We’re supposed to get 18-24 inches.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. All the north side of Cincinnati got was a few flurries, but not enough to cover the driveway. Go 50 miles to the south and southeast, then it gets testy. The northern edge any accumulation was about 10 miles away.

Fractals, I submit, reveal the nature of nature. I find it impossible to believe that nature could be otherwise constructed because the foundation of it is mathematical, i.e., the fibonacci series. Similarly, the universe is statistically consistent. Given a large population and absent outside forces, random outcomes are predictable. This has always amazed me.
I have tested it myself by playing solitaire on a computer. Over a few games the outcome appears random but over many the percentage of wins is predictable. How does it know? It doesn’t of course, and reality doesn’t care, that’s just how it is. (I have noted, however, that random-number generators in software are slightly imperfect and this affects outcomes over time. Some of these are better than others.)

You know, despite the aspirations of people at times towards the meaner end of the wonder scale (which is a thing, you know), I think I like this universe. It’s roomy, musical and filled with meaningful mystery. I mean, what else could you ask for? I guess you could always ask for coffee, and then possibly a good bottle of scotch, which will certainly be in hand when I watch this video again. You’re right, music off. I played it to the extended version of Smalltown Boy, by Bronski Beat. Proof that there is a God behind all these fractal intonations – how else can you explain a one-hit wonder THAT good???
