Ex-Beatles
The Producer’s Guidelines
- Only songs by solo ex-Beatles outside the Beatles
- Songs by the Beatles are unacceptable – even if done as a soloist
- No duplicate songs
- Include the song title in your introduction text so others can see it
- To prevent browsers crashing from loading too many videos, please paste the URL as part of your last line (not a new line) – (I don’t mind unembedding, so apologies are not necessary)
Let’s start with what I think is the first #1 song by an ex-Beatle: My Sweet Lord (George Harrison)
Next Concert: Moody Blues
Past Concerts: Beatles
NICE one to start.
Welp, since I was binge watching B movies tonight whilst reading, I figured I’d stay up for your Beatles mania, sans the Beatles song.
Imma go with one of my favorite Wings selections, Band on the Run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dZkmv6YKr0

Marc,
Glad you stayed up for the event. A lot of good songs in this collection. Worth returning to create your own concert. Binge watching B movies? Oh boy – any beers to accompany the venture? Saturday mornings when I have musical posts are always hectic with me. Sorry I missed this one. … I see the Dolphins seem to be leaning to a Belichek assistant. For me, that’s surprising given the lack the overall lack of success in Belichek’s coaching tree and the experience available.

No beers last night. Going to the movies tonight, after which I will partake of a craft beer or two. 🙂
I look at the possible Flores hiring this way. Either he’s an under the radar home run and we’re good. Or he’s not and we suck . . . majorly. So majorly that in two years we can draft Lawrence . . .

I’m okay with Flores since I don’t know what I don’t know. And besides, McCarthy would’ve been a mistake for us.
Going to see Escape Room. Feels like I may be in for another B movie! LOL

It was good. It freaked me the hell out! As a not so low key claustrophobic chap, I could never partake in one of these escape room challenges.
This flick was one of those challenges, on steroids. I didn’t have to see it in the theater, but it was fun so I’m not upset for having done so.

Id check to see if ‘Yellow Submarine’ has been posted – it’s the only song Ringo seems to know whoever he is playing with, but of course they let him do that one when he was a Beatle so no dice again…. I might come back after I’ve had first coffee …… or maybe three 🙂

The whole live performance reality has changed with internet.
Prior to internet, live performance tickets were quite affordable. Point is, the acts were not out to make money from live performances. It was to excite the fans, and inspire them to go out and buy your new album. The money was in album sales. Now, with $1.00 a tune, pirating, sharing etc. a band needs millions and millions of sales. So the reality is reversed. The tunes make people want to come and see you perform. Now, the money is in live performance.

Last night I watched the movie “Eight Days a Week”, a documentary about the Beatles’ touring days. I think it was Paul who said that they had the worst record deal in history and didn’t make any money from record sales. Almost all of there early income came from live shows. I think later, and surely with Apple Corp/Apple records (their Apple, not the tech company), they started to make money from their records. It’s kind of funny that it has come full circle. I think the last big name concert I saw was David Bowie’s last tour in 2004…

Well, she was a performance artist, and she didn’t make a name for herself because she is ordinary. Also, it’s hard to stand out beside John Lennon.
OR, perhaps blind knitting was all the rage back then? I thought hey, maybe she’s doing a blind stitch? Of course I know better. There is no blind stitch in knitting, only sewing.

With all of Paul’s great songs it is odd that not many have been posted. And poor Ringo – I almost posted one out of pity, but thought, no, no. no, no, I won’t post that one no more….

Hahaha! I thought the same thing… a pity post! Lol!
However, I couldn’t get off of “The Magic Christian”, a movie he did. I thought he had written and performed the song I liked… but not!

Yes, Frank. I ate lots of pie, drank lots of wine, and watched a band jam downstairs until wee hours. All in all, more fun than one guy aught to be allowed to have in one night!
Note to The Producer: I had to answer this in a new comment box, as there was no reply prompt under the question.

The key was that you already supplied your song – and this was to supplement an entry.

I held out for as long as I could. I didn’t see the No No Song by Ringo Starr. It doesn’t mean it is not here and if so I missed it. I tried the Control F suggestion of Dale and it didn’t work. Maybe the MAC is different. https://youtu.be/eCSjKXEy65g I have my ears covered and eyes shut as I hit “Post Comment.”.

You’re good, John! I vaguely remember that there was another button for MACs (maybe the “fn” one? Anyway, neither here nor there as no one has used that particular song… of course you would choose Ringo 😉

Yes, and that’s why under Resa’s post I said someone should do a Ringo song out of pity. I said I was about to but, no,no, no, no I won’t post it no more… OK, I guess nobody got the joke at the time…

How about “We All Stand Together,” written and performed by Paul. It’s also called “The Frog Chorus.” Since ex-Beatles so often played instruments to support their friends as they went solo, I eliminated a lot of songs! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PMiP90ntZ8 Beware, it’ll get into your head and you’ll be croaking like a bullfrog!

Frank, I hope you’re well. I still keep up with many of your entries, especially the ones of your recent travels to Europe. I was there myself for a couple of weeks last summer for the second time.

This doesn’t work, my dear David. It is a BEATLES song… you have to choose one by an ex-Beatle and NOT just a Beatles sung whilst they are performing solo… got a Wings song in your repertoire?

Oh how I enjoy when one of my Pioneers from my early days surprises me with a visit. Glad you enjoyed my Eastern Europe vacation posts. A few more to come. Meanwhile, I see you’ve met Dale – the official maître d of my musical events here. All going well with you?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Oh yeah, definitely enjoy the Eastern European posts. I’ve now been to nine European countries myself in the last couple of years, so obviously those posts peak my interest. In fact, I was invited to a wedding by friends in Glasgow last summer, so I decided to go to that and five other cities I hadn’t seen before. I still write, but it’s been mostly in magazines the last two years. The main one being History Magazine by the Moorshead Group out of Canada. I actually have one out in the current issue.
Yep, met Dale and threw a couple of comments at her site, too.
I started a new travel site a couple of weeks and I’m still tweaking it. I finally got one on WordPress. Lol.
Anyway, glad you’re well and still going strong over here!

You may find it helpful to visit those who visit you. Good number of travel bloggers on WP – so I’m sure you’ll find them. BTW – In my sidebar – Categories > Travel .> British Isles cruise is how I got close to Glasgow.

Another FYI: On my Dashboard I can see the comments I make around WordPress – but I don’t see our conversation on your blog at this end. Hmmmm ….

That’s certainly good to know about travel bloggers on WP being plentiful. I’m going to start my guides and reviews with international cities I’ve seen. Then work my way to the ones here. Eventually, I’ll get into sports venues since I’ve seen many here and a few in Europe. In fact, my Gravatar pic is me at Panathenaic Stadium in Athens — the site of the very first modern Olympics. I definitely have plenty to write about. And maybe one day get into some travel magazines. Plus, still fix things up with the site, too.
Oh cool. I’ll be looking at that British Isles entry now. I look forward to the other travel entries from Eastern Europe and beyond, too!

Now why am I not surprised you have a sports twist. 😉 FYI: Your gravitar shows up at this end, but I don’t see it on your comment on your blog.

And yep, you know a sports twist was coming in. But being I’ve been to a lot of sports venues, it’ll help stand out more.

Besides knowing that my availability is limited this week and trying to take advantage of the situation, this attempt is so poor, Huggy Bear would have just shook and head and walked away.
