Excellent choice to start off the concert, Frank!
I have been struggling to stay awake but it was so close to 1, that I just had to 😉

Dale,
LOL on the same concert. But hey – I think it was their HOF induction. One of the reasons I picked mine was that it seems to be the opener. Meanwhile, your choices shows their versatility … as does Tusk from ponder.

I do remember this one. I always thought it was more of a country song. Not being someone who followed this group, I thought it had a good beat and was easy to dance to … LOL

So 7 am back with first coffee to listen to the concert. 🙂 Love the opener too, and Say You Love Me still a wonderful piece. They stand up well don’t they. I just realised I’ve been listening to them for about 50 years – can that be?

I jumped into the same boat and went with early Fleetwood Mac. I do not think The Producer will object but he might have an issue with the abbreviation of his title. I have been informed in previous musical outings that he is ̶s̶e̶n̶s̶i̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ particular about it. The abbreviation has the additional risk of being mistaken for an insult as it also stands for toilet paper.

Fleetwood Mac recorded it first, 2 years before Santana, and it was (very) minor hit for them – #37 on the UK singles chart

I was not the biggest Fleetwood Mac fan growing up. I dig them just fine but my jams do not have a ‘second level’ as with other bands. That said, even if I was a bigger fan, I still believe “Don’t Stop” would have been my choice. It’s a song that takes me all the way back 1992. The Clinton/Gore campaign used it and I remember the hopeful chord it struck at the time. Those were the days. https://youtu.be/Tm0nopK1BQM

OK, I feel stupid. I have heard this song a million times and never knew the name. Truthfully I never thought about it and assumed it was something like “White Winged Dove”. Great choice.

Yeah, I figured out the song after I heard it in the movie “School of Rock”
What a great title; Edge Of Seventeen.

Sorry, I am late for the concert. Getting sand out of my trunks.
So many good songs here, but my choice for Fleetwood Mac is easy.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news… but um, the very first participant (moi) chose that song…
See waaaaay up…
Luckily The Producer has not noticed – yet! Hurry!

Isn’t that crazy. Yours was the first song I listened to. I listened to so many, I forgot the first ones I heard. By the time I went through them all, I couldn’t even remember if mine was there. So, I did the Command F search thing, which I saw suggested on a previous concert, or musical. It’s an excellent tip!
Anyway, it is a perfect song choice for Drew, buzzer or not. (That darn buzzer is unnerving. I’ve had it before!)

Resa … FYI … tomorrow is the open free-for-all day when extra submissions are accepted.

I know! I’m sitting here thinking… she made a comment… Smart thing to do – that search!
I’ve received it myself! Why, thanks to my telling Frank he had chosen an already chosen song for someone, The Producer had to give HIM the buzzer!

LOL . So sorry for the mistake. Thankfully Frank helped out with a good song

All good! Was trying to save you from the Buzzer!
And he did, didn’t he?

Yes, I think he may have played some hockey back in his day. Cause that was a great save.

That’s what I do as a way of softening The Producer’s buzzer.

Resa,
Thanks for the kind words and support. Keep in mind that although it is a tough task, I intentionally limit The Producer’s role – such as I pick the openers.
FYI: Yes, the Queen of Soul is next on the schedule – but actually two weeks in two weeks because my scheduling difficulties.

I still can’t find what I was looking for, but this was a huge, huge hit back in the day (Sara): https://youtu.be/K1jQQ4DTov0
I mean, with Stevie Nicks alone having written over 50 top 40 songs, and then including songs by Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham that made the charts, I think doubt if you’ll run out of hits… (Typically I’m not a “hits” person, but since I didn’t really follow this band much, that’s what I know – I did have a roommate who had a huge crush on Stevie, though…)

Oh, and thinking of “I still can’t find what I was looking for”, is U2 ever going to have a concert 😉

Trent,
Good question – all I can say is that the list is long and U2 is on it.

I’m sure the list is long – there’s been a lot of bands/artists out there who have had long, varied careers, so the well will never run dry.

Trent,
Good morning … and way to get another one onto the stage. I’ve been waiting for Sara.
No question that the Fleetwood Mac writing time was prolific. Great stuff … and I imagine there were others like your roommate (although she didn’t turn my world upside down).

I LOVE Fleetwood Mac…Gypsy is one of my all time favorite songs a well as, Silver Springs. Her wail on that will eternally bring me to my knees. Every girl who’s loved someone down to their socks relates to that tune. I’m tearing thinking of it, even as I write.
Stevie Nicks. Am I being cheesy if I say…she rocks? 🙂
