The Story
Welcome to Pronouns: The Musical.
Some may ask, “Pronouns?”, but we at A Frank Angle say, “Why not pronouns!”
A subset of nouns, pronouns serve as a substitute for nouns and noun phrases. These bits of linguistics and grammar are versatile and can almost refer to anything.
Although pronouns can be personal, objective, possessive, indefinite, relative, intensive, demonstrative, interrogative, reflexive, and reciprocal, this musical extravaganza focuses on selected pronouns.
Program
Act 1: I
Act 2: You
Act 3: Me
Act 4: He
Act 5: Him
Act 6: She
Act 7: Her
Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. (Ralph Waldo Emerson, poet)
Nature is the source of all true knowledge. She has her own logic, her own laws, she has no effect without cause nor invention without necessity. (Leonardo da Vinci, Renaissance Man)
Truth is the daughter of time, and I feel no shame in being her midwife. (Johannes Kepler, Mathematician)
The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also. (Harriet Ann Jacobs, writer)
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. (Audrey Hepburn, actor)
Once a woman has forgiven her man, she must not reheat his sins for breakfast. (Marlene Dietrich, actor)
A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. (Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady)
Behind every great man is a woman rolling her eyes. (Jim Carrey, actor)
Guidelines
Songs must have Her in the title
Cautions
- No duplicates songs regardless of artists
- Foreign language equivalents unacceptable
- Contractions are acceptable at the discretion of The Producer
Production Note
To prevent browsers crashing from loading too many videos, please
- include the song title and artist in your text, and
- paste the URL as part of your last line (not a new line). The latter will provide a link, thus not embed the actual video … but I don’t mind unembedding, so apologies are not necessary.
Announcement
Welcome to the latest musical by aFa Productions – Pronouns: The Musical.
For the second act in a row, the ladies rule the roost – but this time with her. To open the act, we are proud that the original members reunited for this event. Let’s have a great aFa welcome to a great rock band from the Bay Area Ladies and gentlemen, with Send Her My Love – Journey!
Act 8: We
Been staying awake just for you, Frank!
Excellent choice with Journey and thankfully not the song I was going to submit so I’m good 😉
So, I was gonna go with something else but will leave that one for someone else… was chatting with a friend and he suggested Lefty Frizzell’s “Don’t Let Her See Me Cry” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB2CU7_nV8o
Hope you enjoy…

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Dale. I remember sitting at a booth in a diner, with friends, trying to decide which song to play on those mini little juke boxes. Great song too …!!! 😎

I almost opened with this one … but I like to leave the big hits for others. Great choice … but in your case the title could be “hers” …. of “which her”. .. I couldn’t resist!

I know! It’s the first version that popped up. We saw Mary Chapin Carpenter a couple of years ago–she opened for Joan Baez, and they also sang a few songs together.

Such a great choice, I used it to open Act 4. Love your version with the classy collection back-up singers!

Carolyn,
Glad to know that Resa introduced you to a new song. Plus, thanks for stopping by for your first aFa musical act. The theater is an exciting place during these productions. Company policy here is that all commenters must have a song … so we provide one when necessary! Killing me Softly With Her Song (Perry Como) … I think you’ll enjoy the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMmgePWPQiQ

Just to mess with the lovely “Dale” I posted my musical comment on your other post. You can’t expect me to follow the rules EVERY week, can you? Copied here for a better placement, I’ll let you the judge.
__________
Sorry I’m late to the party this weekend. It’s been cray-cray around the Ranch and I’ve been late to just about everything. This week has me mourning the day of decency in politics. Whenever I think it can’t possibly get worse, the petty officer in chief manages to blow through that easy-peasy. While I did not agree with much of the Arizona senator’s political principles, he was a good man mostly, well except for that Sarah Palin thing. There was never any doubt he loved his country and his family and did the best for each. RIP Senator.
Very much enjoyed the memory lane song with Chad & Jeremy. For all the turmoil back in the 60’s & 70’s, those were kinder, gentler days. As for “Her” I was thinking Kris Kistofferson’s “Loving Her Was Easier” might be a fair entry. https://youtu.be/HCgnbRWVvU8
Have a good Labor Day weekend.

Absolutely wonderful. I love me some Kris Kristopherson… and funnily enough, with the “new movie – A Star is Born” coming out, I taped the 2nd “A Star is Born” with Babs and KK. I was positive I had also taped the original but apparently, I accidentally flushed it. Dang…
Messing with the “Lovely Dale”… what up wit dat?
