On Politics
Here are fact checks on the presidential town hall debate.
Gotta love Greatsby’s notes through pictures of the recent presidential debate.
I appreciate this bit of advice from Chris at Nachos Grande (who also happens to be the first person to comment on this blog): I won’t engage in political talks with people I don’t know. You can argue with buffoons and too many people who want to argue politics are buffoons – and from both sides of the political aisle.

I just returned from a fun event playing night golf. Yep … the glow-in-the-dark ball, a glow stick on the flagstick and in the hole, my clubs, and a flashlight.
Sometimes timing is everything. When I wrote and published yesterday’s Movember post about cancer and Proctober, I didn’t realize that I have an appointment on Friday at the urologist.
Earlier this week I announced my candidacy for Worldly High President of the Not-Freshly Pressed Community (NFPC). Some wonder about the title. Any suggestions?
This week I met my first blogger who happens to be a very loyal reader here. Thanks for the delightful day John Erickson!
On my trip, I saw this office building approaching and drive by for the first time – the headquarters for Longaberger Baskets.
A ginger ale update: I purchased more varieties and hope report next week. Meanwhile, Suranac Ginger Beer was on the smooth side and very balanced – thus bumps Hansen’s on advancing to the competition round.
Sorry – but no classic cartoon post this Saturday morning. HOWEVER, I want to something, so I hope to have a light post for your weekend.
Let’s go into the weekend with some class with the great voices of Katherine Jenkins and Placido Domingo Have a good weekend! In the words of Garrison Keillor, Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.
Love the music – thank you! And here is my favourite “golf” quote: “Give me golf clubs, fresh air and a beautiful partner, and you can keep the clubs and the fresh air.”Jack Benny

One of the many downsides for election mania here is that The Onion devotes so much time to it … but limiting the number of non-election headlines. But I enjoy the two references they made to themselves. Thanks for stopping by.

On the Onions, while I like “Polls Reveal Essentially Nothing” (what’s new there?), my winner has to be “Millions Head to Internet to Figure Out Own Opinions about Debate” which as well as being funny is sadly closer to the real truth than we would care to think.

Fasab,
No kidding about the sad by true headline regarding the debate and Internet. Then again, gotta love when satire is closer to reality than one thinks. Meanwhile, glad to plug your chocolate post – thus I hope at least someone stops by. Thanks for visiting.

She is hot .. and she has a great voice. And so has he.
To be honest I had enough of the US politics scene – it’s everyday on Swedish television too. Of course it’s a massive interest because the man that gets the job is the most powerful man in the world, that’s what scares … my socks of me.

I LOVE that basket office building Frank! Who’s the architect, Little Red Riding Hood’s family cobbler, if cobblers even make baskets? I want to know more about it. Do people sit in offices that look like sandwiches? All the Onion headlines are spot-on, too! But, Frank,. I’m dismayed — no classic cartoon post! This confirms it for me, the world really is going straight to hell.

Lame,
I knew you would be dismayed, but I figured that knowing ahead of time would be better than finding out Saturday Morning!
But there is good news in the next post – I was actually thinking about your Saturday expectations with the first entry. 🙂
Meanwhile, regarding the building … here are some factoids about it … but it doesn’t mention any cubicles or people dressed as lettuce. 😦 http://www.longaberger.com/homeOfficeFacts.aspx

Nice that you had a chance to meet John How nice to be able to visit each other in person. I have never had the chance to meet any blogger friends. Almost a couple of times when bloggers have thretened to visit Motnana. Doraz a long time blogger friend I had just missed her as I was on a bloggers break that was too bad I would have enjoyed meeting her in person.
I will listen to the video later as I am in a room full of teachers.

I gotta go with the Polls Reveal Essentially Nothing. As if they ever really DO reveal anything worth anything…
I always wondered if Longaberger HQ used the basket handles as antennas, but could never get an answer from the store personnel. Oh well!
I had a great time, too, Frank. And who knows – you may even earn a reciprocal reference on my blog! 😀
So, should I be looking for “starlight” scopes for you, for your night-time golf? Or just a REALLY powerful flashlight? 😉

John,
Flashlights for night golf are basically for two reasons: safety while walking and getting the right club. Therefore, pulling a beam by cart wouldn’t be acceptable behavior. 😉 Thanks for commenting.

Glad you enjoyed the basket. I gave Lame Adventures the idea of using Photoshop to redesign the Hearst Tower … (I think that is the correct building) … so time will tell if she finds it amusing enough to do.
About the ginger ales, don’t you have a Ginger Ales R Us store in your area? 😉 We have a local store that handles just about everything grocery. It’s a bizarre store, but the go to one for hard-to-find items. Earlier this week I returned home with about 6 more ginger ales!

i tried night golf but couldn’t do it. i had a strange psychological reaction. i could explain it but i’m afraid that the power of suggestion might then affect you. i know it sounds silly to think that would happen, but hey, you never know.

Rich,
I’ve known people where golf got the best of them psychologically … so they gave it up. I also know some that should give it up because of that. Fortunately for me, and for the most part, it doesn’t get to me. And I wonder what Spielberg was thinking. Then again, there is his creative side. Thanks for commenting.
