The Producer’s Guidelines
- Only songs performed by Elvis Presley
- No duplicate songs
- Include the song title in your introduction text so others can see it
- One song per person (on Day 1)
- To prevent browsers crashing from loading too many videos, please paste the URL as part of your last line (not a new line) – (I do not mind unembedding, so no apologies are necessary)
Note: Return on Day 2 to submit more songs without limits. (My typical signal is posting a song for all attendees.)

LOL, Dale, that was exactly my thought, as I was certain someone would beat me to it. All brilliant choices, but with the King it’s hard to go wrong with a voice like his! 😉 [we both went for ballads! 😉 ]

I think back to all the Elvis movies I watched when I was younger and how Eddie Murphy was right. Every single one was Elvis muttering a couple lines before saving himself by belting out a song.
Me too, I really dig this one.

Another classic Elvis that is dreamy. Love that he did this one with an orchestra as it fits the tune well.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Dreamy and a great song too! Sometimes when a song has been ‘over’ listened to, we may dismiss it for being too popular*… [I wonder if that made sense…]
*popular does not always mean good / great. It’s not uncommon for indifferent or even bad songs to become very popular.

Perfect song for his pipes… such a beautiful one. And um… doing dishes for a SORORITY, eh? You wild thing!
LikeLiked by 3 people
Worked in kitchens all through school. Was the best experience ever. When doing pots and pans you don’t go out into the dining room so there is enough time to stage a performance. I loved the speaking part. “Honey you lied when you said you loved me and I had no cause to doubt you. But I’d rather go on hearing those lies than to go on living without you” Now the vocal picks up. 🎶Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty or bare? 🎶 Gadzooks did I have fun.

Good for you. I was, of course, referring to being college aged and working in a sorority – could have been… interesting?
And yes, that spoken part does add it’s special cachet.
Wish I coulda seen you perform 😉

Although, he was such a willing commodity, the film industry made a bit of a monkey out of him by the time it was said and done for. … Change of Habit? Kissin’ Cousins? Kissin’ Cousins is sooo bad, it was sure it was the last of his 31 movies.
Have you seen his page on the IMDB? https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000062/He's got credits up to today, and he’s still making money.

I chose “Cold Kentucky Rain,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIBDwVMN6qc because it’s a favorite. I accompanied a friend and her family to Vegas in 1971 (the white jump suit era) and Elvis wasn’t doing very well. He forgot lyrics and was just not healthy. But somehow this particular song energized him. I think it was relatively new at the time and may not have been recorded yet. This is a memory from 50-years ago, so I doubt I remember everything clearly. But I sure do remember being there! And I do love this song!
