  2. BB-34 is the USS New York, name class of two WW1 vintage battleships. Her sister, BB-35 USS Texas, is the ONLY World War 1 battleship still preserved anywhere in the world (just outside Houston, Texas), and is often found as the flagship of a seceded nation of Texas in science fiction.
CA-34 was a US Heavy Cruiser, the Astoria, sunk in 1942.
And the CV-34, USS Oriskany, was a carrier that served through WW2, Korea, and Vietnam, where she suffered a horrific deck fire, killing 44 men. She was recently sunk, on purpose, to form part of an artificial reef off Pensacola, Florida.
And other than 34 being the designation of the most famous (or infamous) Russian tank of World War 2, the T-34 that stunned the German invaders and gave birth to the modern “main battle tank”, that is all the military references that pop to mind. If I recall more, I’ll add them in.
    Back to the backlog! 😀

      • Ah yes – so “back” and clever, I missed that this was a post celebrating your anniversary! 😯
And a Happy one to you, even if you are a bit (or more) late. We hit the big 2-0 this September – so expect a post covering that on my new blog (which I will get to once I get all my stuff from my absence cleaned up).
Oh, and one more 34 – the infamous German machine gun, the MG-34. 😉

  3. Happy Anniversary! I love these numeric retrospectives. The Beagles wish you 34 howls of happiness and remind you of their favorite verse in Psalm 34: “Taste and see that the LORD is good.”

  4. Right Angle here (Thanks Meesh for the suggestion)…Frank has procrastinated again. Our 34th anniversary was last spring. It’s actually now closer to our 35th than it is to our 34th. But I do appreciate the thought. Love you dear!

  5. Happy anniversary! My wife and I are celebrating our sixth this weekend; however, I’ve not taken the time to go back and look into all things six. Way to invest what must have been some serious effort here.

  6. Love this. I would like to adopt it for family celebrations if that’s okay. I have done similar things but there are further ideas in here.
