In the following past post of not that long ago, I provided links to many of the new sites I’ve discovered in the past 4-5 months to fulfill my quasi requirement for various awards. As we know, many awards also come with an obligation to tell more about yourself. Good news is that I haven’t run out of this kind of information – bad news is I haven’t run out of this kind of information.
Whenever I go to the pharmacist, I’m fearful of seeing a busload of senior citizens unloading as I approach the store – but this has never happened to me.
Whenever I go to a hotel, I’m fearful of a tour bus unloading as I’m approaching to check in – and this happened once!
I typically sneeze in threes.
I have leaped out of our hot tub/spa, ran into the snow and did a snow angel, then raced back into the hot water.
Because I get too light headed when I give blood, I don’t give any more (sad to say).
I regularly use one Clinique product – a comb.
My favorite sleepwear includes an approximately 20-year old orange t-shirt.
I think my first kiss was with Bobbie Jo in her basement during elementary school years. I can’t recall when she moved away, so I wonder whatever happened to her and her brother.
I recall having only one blind date in my life. I recall having a good time.
When I was in elementary school, I decided to hitch a ride on the back of a milk truck and then jumped off it when it was moving 25 miles per hour. Yep – I end up in the hospital for several days – and very lucky.
I’ve never been one to sleep in – thus I’m an early riser and a morning person.
Two of my favorite travel highlights:
The most beautiful inhabitable scenery: Na Pali Coast, west coast of Kauai (Hawaii)
The most beautiful habitable scenery: Amalfi Coast (Italy)
On the day I was born, Teresa Brewer’s Till I Waltz Again with You was #1 on the charts. Interestingly, this is not a song for waltz.
I want to drive the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.
My wife and I are greedy – thus only playing lottery games when they reach $100 million.
I was in a car accident and in the same car with a person who died.
I went to Madrid, Spain for a 3-day weekend from Ohio: left Friday afternoon, arrived Saturday morning, left Monday early afternoon, home Monday night, and at work Tuesday morning.
I make oat bran muffins (various flavors) and eat two for breakfast in an attempt to control my blood cholesterol. OK – I should post the recipe in the future.
I can’t be the only person who likes caramel topping by the spoonful without ice cream.
I still get daily newspaper delivery and read the Sports section first.
I know college dorm rooms are small, but while sitting on opposite beds, my roommate tossed a Ritz Cracker, and I caught it on my tongue.
My wife says I’m too serious.
With the perfect timing associated with a light switch, I once farted and the only light in the room went out.
My left hand is prosthetic because I preserved the original in a jar. Yep – it had to be after Shania Twain touched it. To first timers here, I’ve said this here more than once.
Before the last tidbit, anyone desiring more information about the person behind this blog, click here or see Categories > About Me in the sidebar.
Early in our marriage, my wife caught me dusting the apartment to the beat (and in time) to this Lou Rawls song from on LP on the turntable. Of course as she reads this she is wondering, how do you remember that and why? Enjoy Lou and his surprise guests.
I’m glad your an early riser because I have some to blog with early in the morning wee hours. I would like your oat muffin recipe. I enjoyed reading your get to know you list.:+) I’ll have to wait to play the video as I don’t want to wake Navar. Congratualtions on the Awards I’d say you earned them. I feel like I should say somthing about the fart but, I’m not sure what to say. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

I saw it once when I was driving my son, who was ASLEEP in the back seat — somehow I managed to wake him up to see it without killing anyone in the process.
The Weinermobile is worse than texting and driving!

Triple sneezes, eh? I sneeze twice when bothered by an irritant or just whenever – but only sneeze in singles when a cold or flu bug attacks. Conservation of energy? 😉
Maybe we can do a double – when you get to drive the Wienermobile, I’ll try to buzz you from behind the stick of a B-17. Though be sure to book your drive after noon, ’cause I abhor mornings. 😀
Have a good weekend!

Wow! What a fun post and great to get to know so much more about you. That is so tragic about the car accident, so typical of a young adolescent male to jump off a moving vehicle and end up in hospital narrowly escaping death, your fears about senior citizens joining a queue at a pharmacy are justified as are your fears of tour buses arriving at a hotel reception a fraction before you arrived and your first kiss was in a basement? Basements intrigue me. We don’t have them in Australia. Great post Frank – one of the best I’ve read answering those questions xx

Spiced,
Not all parts of the US have basements. Nope to those close to the coast and those with close-to-the-surface bedrock – thus the rest of us can have basements. Glad you enjoyed this post and thanks for visiting.

Proof to me that you can be considered “serious” and still have a great sense of humor. Your list is quirky and fun, with the exception of accidents and death–I’m so sorry. My, oh my! Perhaps that’s where the serious part of your nature developed. Major life impact, Frank! Your favorite Clinique product–brilliant! Debra

I wish I had your energy in the morning. My body follows the Newtonian Laws–a body at rest and sleeping will stay that way forever it seems. It seems to want 9-10 hours, not kidding.

I wish I had more time to read every one of your posts. I really do.
I mean, I say that to everyone, but I mean it with you. 😉
Perhaps one of these days things will slow down a bit on my end, and I’ll be able to lurk around here whenever I’d like. In the mean time, I always enjoy what I read here. And I’m typically challenged to think deeper about the many topics that you discuss.
In fact, I was just recently talking to a friend, and he asked where I was getting such good information and why many of my political positions have either changed or are now better grounded on more dependable facts.
Needless to say, I blamed a good deal of it on this site.
Anyway, not trying to get all fuzzy. I’m just sayin’.
See ya around Sir.

Hope I’m not repeating a comment here (because you get so damn many) but I have to admit I like it when people reveal things about themselves. Heavy stuff with the car crash. The fart coincidence makes me wonder if you are extra-terrestrial, and the fact that you caught a Ritz with your tongue helps me understand why you’ve been married so long.
Great stuff.

Frank, we are so much alike it would scrare you. In fact, I’m not going to tell you how many things you listed are things I do or have done. The last thing you want added to your Bio is, “My name is Frank and I have the heart and soul of an old black woman!”
I will tell you this one: WW and I went out this weekend for the same amount of time you and Mrs. A did and “tripped the light fantastic.” On Sunday we were so exhausted, we could hardly finish the paper over brunch. What happened? We used to have such energy!
All the best and I love the Amalfi Coast too. Best gellato of my life came from that sweet town with the ancient church and the narrow uphill street in and out (for the life of me I can’t remember the town) to the wharf. Cheers!

There was a sign for Sacramento and Colorado Springs. I turned right and should have gone left (I barely made the connection). The airline said the gate agent should have notice the wrong destination, and sent me to a hotel they paid for. The ride to the hotel was with a bunch of young attrative stewardesses.
It turned out OK.
