Gov. Christie (R-NJ) is doing his best to dodge the Bridgegate bullets. Although I’m currently giving him the benefit of the doubt, he is directly responsible for setting the tone for his office … and that is one of the things bothering me about this situation.
Interesting how numerous Republicans are defending Gov. Christie by using Benghazi, which actually has nothing to do with the issue.
Here’s an interesting article about how the Affordable Care Act is affecting Congressional staff.

Short OITS and I haven’t been making my normal rounds – can you tell that my efforts are elsewhere at the moment?
Given the current craziness in at this end, I figure it’s a week-to-week situation. Therefore, I probably won’t post each day next week.
Here are your weekend celebrations
- (Fri) Fetish Day, Hot Buttered Rum Day, Hot Heads Chili Day, Cable Car Day, Ditch Your New Year’s Resolution Day
- (Sat) Winnie the Pooh Day, Bald Eagle Appreciation Weekend, Thesaurus Day, Peking Duck Day
- (Sun) Popcorn Day, Tin Can Day, Whisper “I Love You” Day, Brew a Potion Day
Let’s use an instrumental hit from 1972 to send everyone into the weekend, which also is very fitting for a Sunday celebration. Have a safe weekend and in the words of Garrison Keillor, Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

Fetish day. Oh my. Not sure I want to know the specifics of that…
You’re usually my last post of the night, Frank. I come in my den to shutdown my computer, and I usually find your post. Always a pleasant way to end my day. (But I didn’t make first commenter this time. Dang!)

I wish I could blame a teacher for my misery … Wow, “Hot Butter” is 42 years old! My sister and I used to act like maniacs in our room when it would come on the radio. Hey, I was 13 so I had some semblance of an excuse for behaving like an out of my mind goofball, but she was 20!

Lame,
Thank you for participating in this edition of True Confessions. Fortunately, comparing to the story from RoSy, your’s is understandable … even if you danced around to the music 42 years later.

Great reads as usual! Reading about the acquisition of California makes me yearn for a government who is able to stomach change… could you imagine the hoopla if the Mexican states of the Baja Peninsula wanted to join the US today?? I’m quite certain it wouldn’t be a finished ordeal in the course of 6 months!! Many thanks for the fun Friday read!

Twixt,
Great example … don’t only would the hoopla be grand, it would continue even after the decision. Crazy … absolutely crazy!

Hi Frank – I know – the Gov. Christie thing has me puzzled a bit. What were they thinking? As to the business at hand (your move), you probably don’t remember, but when I was new at this, you once told me not to worry about not reciprocating all the time (my big worry, plus I was literally unable to do this blog for about 5 months). It meant a LOT! And relieved my mind considerably. You said those who were to come back, would. And they did! 🙂

Deb,
In terms of the governor’s office, I really think that many advisors get on a power trip, after all, they weren’t thinking!
Thanks for the reminder. As we know, it’s easier to give advise to someone than it is to take your own!

Yes – power trips, to be sure.
I’m great at giving out advice! Not good about listening to it. How’d you guess? heh heh

As much as I like the guy, the Governor cannot claim the buck stops here on the one hand and then play this off as someone else’s doing on the other. Not when these geniuses were hand picked by him, he can’t.,
As for that song, that’s the old NFL films song, isn’t it?
